The solution of "no bootable device" for mechanical hard disk and solid-state hard disk multi-system startup

Recently purchased a reserved msata interface of HP computers, buy back to start tossing SSD and memory problems, memory one-time solution; But SSD encountered three problems during installation, respectively:

No screws, cannot fix solid state hard drive (after an old mouse to get a, although not very close, but the problem is solved)

The system is installed on the solid-state hard drive and prompts "No bootable device" (this is what I want to introduce today)

The first boot will have RAID creation prompt (no workaround, but little impact)

One, use model: HP privilion M4 1019TX

Second, test environment: VMware + win7 + SATA + SATA

Third, the problem analysis

You can start the system normally by using the system installed on the HDD before the solid-state drive is installed.

After the solid state drive is installed, the boot will still boot from the HDD system, and the system will be prompted to discover a new hard drive, which can load the hard drive and partition it.

Use WinPE to remove all partitions on the HDD (because it is a new machine, delete it) and create three partitions (personal habits) as systems, software, and documents on 120G SSD; through VDM and winntsetup3_ 1, after the Win7 system has been successfully deployed to the SSD system partition (the hard disk uses the MBR partition table), it is normal to reboot to complete the Win7 installation.

Reboot system, Prompt "No bootable Device ..."

Looking at the BIOS, we found that the disk boot sequence could not be changed, and the HDD disk serial number is 0,SSD 1.

Using the VMware virtual machine for testing, under the normal virtual machine, add a SATA hard drive, and adjust its serial number is SATA 0:0, the original installed system of the hard drive serial number is SATA 0:1;

Find the data, found in the case of multiple hard drives can only be started in the following way, that is, the boot information to write on the MBR of the first hard disk.

Iv. Solutions

It's easy to find a problem, use Winntsetup to modify the MBR of the first hard drive, and then edit its startup items according to the different boot tools, and use both wee and grup4dos to boot the Win7 on the second hard drive; However, the speed of the boot tool does not have the original Windows ideal, even if the timeout set to 0, the boot will have a 1~2s black screen time; So here is the use of Windows own boot, here the following figure first select the first hard disk as the target disk for installation, and then select Windows NT Click Install.

Because Windows NT uses the active primary partition, a 100M partition on the first hard drive is used for booting, as shown in Disk 0 after partitioning:

Now we're going to use this partition, and in order to boot, the boot partition must have bootmgr and BCD files, so we copy the bootmgr files and the boot folder from the existing system to the C disk in the diagram above; You can then use Winntsetup to edit the BCD file to properly boot the system on disk 1, as shown in the following figure:

Since the BCD file is copied from the SSD disk, there is already a previous boot entry on it, so just make sure the boot disk in the image above is HD1 and the partition is correct.

Reboot again, the system can start normally ...
