Problem Description
When you set a router to access the Internet, the WAN port of the router cannot be set to PPPoE, and the WAN port status prompts "no response from the server", as shown in the figure below:
Solution: Make sure the connection is correct based on the type of your home broadband line, as shown in the following example: (telephone access is used as an example)
If the connection is normal but the WAN port indicator is not on, check whether the network cable interface is not in good contact. Try another network cable.
Make sure that the computer can connect to the broadband and access the internet normally.
Possible causes: The bandwidth line does not support PPPoE dial-up access.
Solution: PPPoE refers to dialing through the broadband account password specified by the carrier. If you are not using PPPoE for dial-up Internet access, log on to the vro interface and click
Network Parameters>
WAN
Port settings, In
WANPort connection typeSelect the correct method.
Possible causes: Some broadband carriers are bound to the MAC address of the computer Nic. Only the bound computer can use PPPoE to dial up the internet. No other computer or router can dial up.
Solution: In this case, clone the MAC address on the vro management interface. Use a single computer to manage the vro that can dial up and access the internet. On the vro management page, clickNetwork Parameters>MACAddress clone, ClickCloneMACAddress, ClickSaveIn this way, the MAC address of the bound computer (single-host dial-up computer) Nic is cloned to the WAN port of the router, as shown in the figure below:
Possible causes: The household network cable degrades too much due to aging, poor quality, or long line.
Solution:Try to adjust the speed and duplex mode of the WAN port of the router. Log on to the vro management page and click
Network Parameters
>
WAN
Port rate mode,
Mode settings
Select
10 MbpsHalf duplex Or10 MbpsFull duplex Mode, clickSave, As shown in the following figure:
Note:: Some vrouters or some software versions do not support adjusting the WAN port speed mode and try to upgrade the vro software version.
Possible causes: During normal Internet access, the MODEM or vromodem is suddenly powered off, and the WAN port network cable of the vrowan is directly Unplugged. This is an abnormal disconnection. The client is disconnected, but the server does not release the connection at this time. As a result, the vro cannot dial up immediately.
Solution: Wait a few minutes before dialing again. The specific waiting time varies depending on the local line status.
