Thousands of websites trapped in server maintenance dilemma
In July, a server hosting company suddenly evaporated, causing the loss of the "landlord" of the several branch network stations in the company ".
The company rented the Data Center of China Netcom and defaulted on the cost of more than 200 million yuan. After the incident, China Netcom temporarily managed thousands of servers hosted in the company ". Since May 14, many website owners have tried to remove servers. However, China Netcom said that it had sued the "landlord" to the court and that it still had to negotiate to move the house from the server. Yesterday, China Netcom's reply to the website was still "waiting for notice". The normal operation of these websites is difficult to guarantee.
Thousands of websites
The company is named Beijing zhongsuo Network Communication Co., Ltd. (CSO). Founded in May 2000, it is an IDC service provider.
The so-called IDC service provider is the "landlord" that provides server hosting services ". As "tenants", various websites Place website servers in the "landlord" data center to provide daily maintenance and other services.
On June 23, July 2003, Cable Corporation signed an IDC data center agreement with China Netcom to lease IDC data center 200 m² in Yizhuang for a period of 5 years.
The new IDC is located in Yizhuang International Data Center, one of the largest IDCs in Asia. As of the beginning of this year, many website owners have signed agreements with CSO to host servers. Li Fei is one of them.
Li Fei established an e-commerce website in the fall of 2006. One year later, the website earned more than 10 million RMB a month. "For websites, stable servers are the most critical ." At this time, the company's network advertisement attracted him.
Through contact, Li Fei decided to migrate the website server from another registrar to zhongsuo's data center. The first reason for the migration is that the other party has a good environment, and the second is that the "rental" is low. "the hosting fee for the previous year was more than 7000 yuan, but it was only 4800 yuan in the middle of the year ".
Li Fei described the new home of the website server: a room with hundreds of square meters, with 120 cabinets and more than 20 servers in one cabinet, one server has one or more websites, and some servers have hundreds of websites.
Based on this calculation, at least several servers on the Internet are hosted by CSO.
Since then, Li Fei's website management has become simple. Whenever he wants to restart the server, he can call the full-time network manager of CSO and the other party will help him complete the operation.
"One phone call is done, and few people in the company go to the data center ." Li Fei said that at the time, he thought everything would always be so simple.
Change Master of company evaporation data center
On July 6, May this year, Li Fei's Shuxin day was over.
On September 16, May 14, Li Fei's website suddenly failed to log on. Li Fei called CSO's network maintenance phone and found that it could not be connected. "At that time, I felt that zhongsuo could have an accident." he hurried to Yizhuang International Data Center.
In front of the center, Li Fei met 17 other representatives from various websites and their websites could not be accessed.
At the center, they did not find the maintenance personnel of CSO, and only the Netcom staff were here. Netcom staff informed them that in early April, CSO employees suddenly resigned and the network maintenance staff had already been evacuated. Currently, the data center is hosted by Netcom.
Many website representatives hope to access the data center to maintain the network, and some other websites say they want to migrate servers and reselect service providers.
After coordination, Netcom agreed that representatives from various websites should enter the IDC to maintain the server, but must present the contract signed with CSO, in the past, telephone remote restart and daily dedicated maintenance services no longer exist. Since then, representatives from other websites have come to inquire about this matter.
Since then, Li Fei's website maintenance is no longer simple. He must send representatives to Yizhuang International Data Center. In addition to carrying the contract with him, the representative also needs to hold a letter of authorization from the website. Each time he enters the IDC, he must change his shoes and dress neatly.
"Every restart is particularly troublesome and difficult to maintain," Li Fei said. In addition to maintenance problems, he is more worried about the fate of the website. He proposed several times to remove the server from the data center, however, they were all rejected by China Netcom. The reason for rejection is that there is an economic dispute between China Netcom and CSO.
Difficulties in website maintenance
On October 13, May 14, representatives of various websites set up the "CSO rights alliance" QQ group. As of yesterday, 116 netizens had joined the group, mostly the owners of various websites. All people are looking for clues to disappear.
Li Fei and others recalled that at the beginning of this year, zhongsuo company suddenly informed various websites that it was about to move the servers placed in the center-level data center to the second-level data center on the grounds of "IP address adjustment ". After the incident on December 31, May, they inquired about Netcom and learned that the data center on the second floor belongs to Xinyue power Network Technology Co., Ltd. (Xinyue power ).
The owners of the two IDC server hosting companies are the same: the legal representative is Bai Xinwen. The reporter learned from the Netcom staff that, due to overdue charges, after Netcom terminated its cooperation with CSO, Bai Xinwen registered the new moon power company and cooperated with Netcom again, the servers of various websites on the company have also been moved to the new moon power.
It is understood that in 2004, Sina Technology reported that China Netcom said that since the end of 2002, it had been in arrears with China Netcom to carry out e-chat projects, IDC room leasing and other business cooperation. China Netcom once imposed bandwidth restrictions on CSO.
Yesterday, Yizhuang International Data Center told the website that China Netcom sued China Netcom for its broadband fee and data center fee of more than 200 million RMB due to the arrears of the company, after that, he "took over" the data centers of CSO and Xinyue power company.
For various websites, the most important thing is to move the server out as soon as possible. However, because the website is a contract signed with CSO, but the server is placed in the new moon power machine room, the IP address stated in the contract has also changed, and the website cannot prove to China Netcom, the servers in the IDC are theirs. China Netcom therefore refused to remove the server from the website.
The website party's recovery focus is transferred to Bai Xinwen. Some netizens in the QQ group said that Bai Xinwen was detained for being "attacked", and some said Bai Xinwen was hospitalized due to illness. The reporter confirmed that Bai Xinwen was indeed detained by the police and the reason for the detention was unknown. Then the doctor diagnosed his illness and is currently undergoing treatment.
In the QQ group, many website representatives said that Bai Xinwen set up two companies and relocated their servers in a fraudulent manner.
Yesterday, a number of websites began to back up data on the server. They are worried that once the network is suddenly disconnected, the website will be unable to maintain. Currently, this number of domestic sites are still being moved out of the negotiating server with China Netcom, and the results are still pending.
