To set the root login method for a Debian system

The Debian desktop environment does not allow root logging by default, so you need to modify the configuration.

One, let Debian can use root login

1 First modify the GDM3 settings file (/etc/gdm3/daemon.conf) and append the following line to the [Security] field:

2) finally modify the gdm3 login Pam file:

Vi/etc/pam.d/gdm-password

Auth Required pam_succeed_if.so user!= root quiet_success comment out//line before add #

Second, let Debian automatically log in as root

1 First modify the GDM3 settings file (/etc/gdm3/daemon.conf), add the following two lines after the [Daemon] field:

Automaticloginenable =true//change to True

#AutomaticLogin =root//log in automatically with root

If you want to wait a few seconds to log in again, you can append the following in the [Daemon] field:

Timedloginenable = True

Timedlogin = root

Timedlogindelay = 5//Delay 5 sec Login, can be modified

2) finally modify the GDM3 automatic login Pam file:

The code is as follows:

Vi/etc/pam.d/gdm-autologin

Comment out [/ode]auth required pam_succeed_if.so user!= root Quiet_success[/code]. Add # in front of the line to remove the restriction that Debian does not allow root login.

Reboot the System!
