What would you describe if you had to describe him to someone who didn't know anything about technology? A database administrator has a number of different roles and functions. Some of the roles or functions I've seen or done: Install SQL Server, manage server performance, including disk space utilization, backup management, access control and user rights or roles, manage replication and always roles in multiple failover clusters and play performance tuning or indexing, SQL work, alerts, Database Mail, release database scripts. I think these should be described as the core responsibilities of the DBA.

I used to do the same, depending on the size of your work, some database programmers have some additional responsibility that can be called the responsibility of the developers of the team database, such as creating tables, views, function functions, and stored processes or in the field of data construction, such as database design, planning, The standard and critical index of the table. Sometimes, a database administrator may manage the package of SSIS and import or export the data, other times their reports may need to use SSRS or other reporting tools, and as you get more into the BI domain, you may need a data warehouse or ETL package to manage, I'm sure there are some aspects I've missed as a database administrator.

My first job was to be hired as a net developer and database developer. It's a very small shop and I'm the only one with the most database work experience. Before I knew it, I worked on installing SQL Server, setting up backup and managing SQL Server performance, and so on. It took me nine years to do the job, and this two-thirds was for the company or the client I work for, the DBA, the database architect, or the database developer. No one asked me to do this, I just joined in when I saw the need.
