Astaxanthin significantly improves high-density lipoprotein HDL

Background: Natural astaxanthin has been reported to significantly improve animal lipid levels (high-density lipoprotein low HDL) and other disorders and metabolic disorders, But astaxanthin on Human Lipid (high-density lipoprotein low HDL) and so on.

Method:The natural astaxanthin dose was, mg/day for 12 weeks, and placebo-controlled, sample: randomly chosen 25-60 years old, no diabetes or hypertension, 61 non-obese people with fasting serum triglyceride 120-200 mg/dl.

Result:Both body mass index (BMI) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) did not affect the above dose, however, triglyceride (TG) was reduced by 30-50%, while high-density lipoprotein (HDL) significantly increased by 20-30%. Multi-Sample comparison showed that the levels of triglyceride in the 12 and 18 mg/day groups were significantly reduced by 30-50%, while those in the 6-12 mg/day dose group were significantly increased by 20-30%, 12-18 mg/day dose group had an increase in serum lipid condentions, and changes in lipid condentions were positively correlated with changes in high density lipoprotein (HDL), and were not associated with age BMI.

Conclusion:The study, the first ever randomized, double-blind (astaxanthin and placebo) controlled human study, shows that natural astaxanthin can consume human triglyceride (TG), significantly increasing high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and lipid contact.
