Overview: use hardware configuration manager to collect hardware configuration information for client devices in an enterprise. To collect the hardware list, you must enable the hardware list settings on the client. After you enable the hardware configuration and hardware configuration cycle to run the client, the client sends the configuration information collected by a management point in the client's site. The management point then forwards inventory information to the inventory information stored in the database of the Configuration Manager site server site. The list of hardware running on the client specified by the Administrator in the client settings. You can use multiple methods to view hardware configuration data, including the following:

1) create a query and return devices based on specific hardware configurations.

2) create a query-based set based on specific hardware configurations. Query-based set membership that is automatically updated as planned. The administrator can perform multiple tasks, including software deployment and usage sets.

3) The running report displays detailed information about specific hardware configurations in the enterprise.

4) use the resource manager to view detailed information about the hardware list of the client device.

Expand the Configuration Manager hardware list: in addition to the Configuration Manager in the built-in hardware list, you can also use one of the following methods to expand other information collected by the hardware list:

1) add and remove from inventory Configuration Manager Console: In Configuration Manager, you can enable, disable, add, and delete inventory class Configuration Manager from hardware.

2) noidmif file: The noidmif file is used to collect information about the client device. Configuration Manager cannot be used to check information. For example, you may want to collect information about the device asset numbers only as tags on the device. Noidmif inventory is automatically associated with client devices that have been collected

3) idmif file: Use the idmif file to collect information about Configuration Manager clients that do not have associated assets in your organization, such as projectors, photocopiers, and network printers.

In Configuration Manager, you can use the Windows intune connector to collect the hardware list on Windows Phone 8, IOS, Android, and Windows devices. Here, we need to use Windows intune, but we have not yet reached the Windows intune, so we will discuss it in detail later.
