I recently downloaded some e-books online (My downloads are much larger than the amount of digestion). I encountered a long-time Chinese Garbled text issue when I was reading CHM.
The Chinese Garbled text problem encountered when I used to view PDF files has been solved. Because I recently encountered another problem in the system change, in order to facilitate myself and convenience for others in the future, so I summarized some Ubuntu documents that I think are better at viewing the software.
1. view PDF files
Use the Adobe Reader + language patch or install xpdf-Chinese-simplified, so that the PDF document will not be garbled.
Ii. view the CHM File
1. The first is the system's built-in "CHM reader". Reading this CHM is disappointing! The title of a book is missing except for a garbled page, let alone an index.
2. use "chmsee" to check the same CHM. The situation is slightly better. The title and index of the book are displayed normally, but sometimes the text is garbled. At this time, you can modify the chmsee encoding. Most of them are okay.
3. Use KDE Desktop kchmviewer for perfect display
3. Doc, Excel, and PPT
1. OpenOffice or libreoffice.
