Methods of avoiding and reducing wireless jamming
1.RRM
RRM is the Spectrum Resource management module of WLAN network, which is responsible for the monitoring and analysis of the empty noise, WLAN interference, empty utilization, and the traffic interaction between AP and client, and according to these information, the channel of AP is dynamically adjusted and the best channel is chosen to transmit. The channel adjustment must be considered in the whole network, and the least impact on the client needs to be considered. As shown in Figure 6, there are two other networks of AP outside the target office area to be covered, working on channel 11 and channel 6 respectively, so that RRM can automatically adjust the AP and their adjacent APs to other non jamming channels based on the empty scan results.
On the other hand, RRM can monitor the neighbor information of each AP in this network, the client's RF information, and dynamically adjust the transmit power of each AP according to the information. When the black hole is found, the emission power will be increased; when the signal strength of the neighbor AP with the same channel is found to be higher than a certain degree, the transmit power is reduced, thus reducing the mutual interference (as shown in Figure 7).
Methods of avoiding and reducing wireless jamming 2. Spectrum analysis
Spectrum analysis can detect non-WLAN interference from the surrounding environment in time and in a comprehensive way. When the frequency spectrum analysis detects the new interference, it will send out the alarm, and show the type of jamming, the jamming channel, the interference intensity, the duty ratio and so on, and can further locate the jamming location, so as to eliminate it in time. Spectrum analysis can also monitor the performance of the entire network, and the timely issuance of alarms.
The combination of spectrum analysis and RRM can make the whole network avoid interference channel in time without human intervention, so as to ensure the usability of the network.
Avoidance and mitigation methods for wireless jamming 3. Channel multiplexing
In a high-density deployment environment, such as spacious conference halls, student dormitories, libraries, and so on, AP deployment density is relatively high, often lead to the same channel between the AP visible, mutual interference serious. By using the channel multiplexing technology, the coverage of AP can be reduced further, thereby eliminating mutual interference and increasing the degree of channel reuse.
