I am also a member of the IT department. Our IT staff provide a large number of services to our business staff, including:

Hardware: maintenance of network, telephone, computer, and other hardware, and maintenance of the servers where various systems are located.

Software: development, maintenance, and modification of various system software.

The IT team of nearly 30 people provides a variety of services to the business departments of more than 1000 people. The workload of each person is not small. Every day, from work to work, in special cases, you need to work overtime.

However, this kind of work did not make the business department grateful to Dai de. I think the work we have done has helped them a lot. On the contrary, in many times, on the contrary, it makes some people feel that their work is more troublesome, and sometimes complain about the tedious work process of the IT department. As a result, their demands cannot be met in a timely manner. In the case of problems, many people like to push their responsibilities to the IT department. People in the IT department are also hard to tell, because people in the business department do not understand their work at all and think that everything should be done in an instant, it does not take too long.

I think the reason is that the business department does not get what they want from the IT department, but what the IT Department provides for them, this is often not in line with the requirements of business departments. What do business departments want IT personnel to provide for them?

They want computers that do not want the highest configuration. They have super-fast CPUs, super-large screens, and super-good graphics cards. What they need is a stable computer that never crashes at all times, to ensure that they complete the task. Or you may need a USB flash drive that allows them to easily share data, instead of ultra-large hard disks, so that they can save everything on the local machine. Once the hard disk crashes, all important information is lost.

What they want is a software system that runs stably without errors and enables them to complete their daily work faster, rather than serving as a super business tester. Every time they use the system, they are careful, for fear of accidentally falling into the trap, and then it takes a long time to climb out of the trap, you also need to find the soil that can fill the trap, and then tell the IT department to fill in the trap.

They want a variety of gadgets and computer knowledge that can improve work efficiency and save work time, so that they can have time to relax after completing their work easily and then perform activities, avoid various office diseases.

What they want is that when necessary, the IT department can help them extract all kinds of data as quickly as possible, so that they can easily process the data, instead of being too inefficient, this led to the criticism of the leaders.

What they want is a super simple system interface. They can see how to use it at a glance, rather than a variety of complicated systems, even people born in the cool class have to spend a long time learning to use complex systems. Their business knowledge has consumed a lot of energy, you don't want to spend a lot of time learning the system. In addition, every company has different systems and can only use them in this company. In the next company, we still have to start from scratch.

What services do we provide to business departments as IT personnel? This is really a question worth pondering, because only when the business department is satisfied can the relationship between the two be more harmonious, and when there is a problem, they will not push each other, but will be brave enough to bear, even share the consequences, so as to better solve the problem; only in this way can the business department trust the IT department more, and IT department should be assured of the need to complete, in the future, you do not need to use the developed things. Only in this way can the two parties understand each other. The business department will think carefully about each requirement, rather than thinking that the IT department is not doing anything. No matter whether or not they will use the demand, they will be thrown to IT for development first.

The above situation is very idealistic, but it is not impossible for me to rely on our joint efforts with the business department.

I think, as an IT staff, especially software developers, to achieve the above situation, you may need to do the following:

Since business personnel are unwilling to learn computer knowledge, let's learn business knowledge and develop it in that way.ProgramIt's easy, and it's annoying to ask business personnel without anything.

When developing a program, from the perspective of the business personnel, if you do not like to use anything developed by yourself (you can say that you do not want to eat your dog food ), so don't try to make the business staff fully satisfied.

When a problem occurs, we should not shirk responsibility to each other, but be brave enough to take responsibility. Our common goal is not to let the leaders not blame themselves, but to solve the problem. After all, there are external customers, that's what we all need to do.
