As more and more domestic designers start moving to Behance to showcase all the details of their design cases in the community, what should be done in this expert-gathering design community to look like a designer who often works in Behance? Today's UI designer Alešnešetřil Shared several of his experiences.
After 3 years of Behance in the community, I began to feel that it was time to give the community a little bit of help and feedback, with my experience and knowledge to give some guidance to the new designers, so today I'm going to talk about how to do the case show in Behance.
The next recommendations are the lessons I've learned after completing 15 projects, and hopefully they'll help you get started.
1, the good case demonstration needs time to polish
Do not expect to finish a project overnight, always want to fastest unrealistic. I have tried this myself, but in the end it ended in failure. Too many thoughts hover in my head, so that I often get lost in the selection of the content and not in the end. Stay up late to think how to start, the final effect should be how, unreasonable. It is a reasonable choice to step forward gradually. Only in this way can you be afraid of the big step behind.
If you really want to present your design project properly, then you should be more cautious and responsible: Don't do a case show to show off something quickly. This hasty behavior can make you miss many things: I often do the whole thing over again for comparison, you know what I mean:
• Start with research and inspiration
• Select the content to display or highlight
• Draw a sketch of the layout and structure on the paper
• Production line block diagram
• Complete the entire design, including the visual design it should have
• Plan the release process for the product (release the product within your social circle)
• Maximize product value (Attach blog posts, add previously unused parts)
2, combined with different media
Many designers just present the final design results on the page, but that's not enough. Wouldn't it be better to combine all your design processes and tell stories about your design projects? From initial ideas and drafts to final completion, make videos, GIF animations, attach unused designs, internal documents, use research reports, study data, design photos- Show the content that might be useful to other designers for reference and learning.
I like to incorporate different media into my case presentation, which will not only make the layout of the project more colorful, but also allow other visitors to see the most valuable part of it, so that they can really trigger their inspiration.
"Everyone is very curious to know how this thing is designed." Let them see the truth and details. Get their next project inspired from here. ”
3. Highlight the most interesting part
Do not put the same interface (login page, Setup interface, etc.) in each project in the most conspicuous position, but they are not so valuable. Highlight the truly unique design and the parts that you really spend your time and energy on, highlighting the good designs that make people like it or have it spread.
The pictures of those bad streets are always a pain in the eyes, and they are always a testament to the mind. If you have the time and energy to make your own unique images or effects and ensure quality, make them one of the most interesting parts of the project.
4, do not expect others to read carefully
Behance is always the mainstream of design work, so don't add lengthy text content to your presentation page. Maybe you think your design process is important, or some part of it needs to be explained, but don't forget that the Behance platform itself determines that it is not a good place to host the content. Maybe you and the team's blog is the most suitable place for long speeches.
Show the details of the design on the Behance, tell the story of the design in the blog, and do the right thing in the right place.
According to my observation, when other designers browse the project on Behance, the title occupies one or two lines of the project, more than 3 lines of space, they will directly page to look at the design details behind. They just want to look at the design directly.
Of course, if you have to show some specific details and content, you might as well make a video, at the end of the case show with video, it is very suitable for those who like to explore the designer.
