1. User Experience

3. Mobile Support

Mobile's history improvements , and now the phone can access your conversation history, missed sessions, call logs, and information archives. The IM Auto-Receive feature allows you to receive information even if you don't respond to a conversation immediately. This requires you to take advantage of the ExchangeServer integration and install the latest mail client at the same time.

4. Management Enhancements

SFB Server 2015 provides new features to improve the manageability of on-premises servers, including in-place upgrades, installation of programs only, improved patching and upgrade processes, improved front-end pool cold-start capabilities, SQL Server AlwaysOn support, and centralized logging and troubleshooting.

Upgrade local server in place

Using the new In-place upgrade feature, it uses the existing hardware and server investments of Lync Server 2013, thereby reducing the total cost.

Smart Installation

Smart Install feature, he can automatically detect and download updates, is now part of the installer, and users are required to check for updates during the installation process.

Improved front-end server patching and upgrade process

SFB introduces two new cmdlets to help with upgrades and patching, when you need to apply a patch or perform other maintenance on the front-end server, just type Invoke-cscomputerfailover and specify the name of the server, SFB migrates the user of the server to another server in the pool, then maintains it, and then uses the Invoke-cscomputerfailback command to bring the server back into production.

New Front End Pool Service start command

SFB introduces a new cmdlet command that simplifies and improves the command to start the entire front end pool service. When you use the Start-cspool command, it checks all front-end servers in the prerequisite pool and then tries to start all front-end servers in the pool.

SQL Server AlwaysOn support for on-premises servers

SFB Server 2015 adds support for an AlwaysOn failover cluster instance of two SQL Server AlwaysOn availability combinations for SQL Server. In addition to these features, SFB continues to support database mirroring and SQL Server clusters.

5. Hybrid Deployment and Management

SFB Server 2015 enhances hybrid deployment and management capabilities by introducing the following features

    • Based on the state of local user assets, use O365 automation aids to determine the best recommended migration route

    • Administrators can use the enhanced SFB Control Panel and Central Administration to manage hybrid deployments

    • Control Panel enhancements, administrators can log in to the O365 tenant and start the Hybrid Deployment Wizard.

    • The control Panel supports migrating local users to online or online users to local.

    • The control plane can identify and filter objects that have been transferred from the local to online

    • Central Administration can identify and filter user objects that were originally migrated locally to online

6. Multi-factor authentication support
