PDF documents should be the most common type of file format, many e-books, product descriptions, corporate documents are starting to use PDF document, so everyone's computer must also keep a large number of PDF documents. In this way, it is very troublesome to find out in which document the article that only remembers the general content.
You can only open all of the PDF documents, through a page of browsing to find, the efficiency is undoubtedly very low. In fact, for the Win7 system, just install the "Foxit PDF IFilter" Plug-in for the computer, we can easily achieve the file content as the standard to search the PDF document.
1th step: Determine the scope of the search
Download the "Foxit PDF IFilter" Plugin first, then double-click the downloaded MSI format installation package, follow the prompts to complete the plug-in installation operation, then open Win7 Control Panel and "Large icon" to browse all the items in the Control Panel, double-click the Run Control Panel in the index options item, To open a dialog box with the same name, click the Modify button, open the Index Location dialog box, and then select only the disk partitions that are related to the location of the PDF document (for example, just check f) and click the OK button.
Establish an index
Step 2nd: Index creation
Click the Advanced button to open the File Types tab of the Advanced Options dialog box. The "PDF" checkbox and the lower end of the "Add Index to attributes and files" Radio box are checked separately, and then the system can start the indexing operation on the F disk by clicking the OK button.
Filter the file type of the index
Friendly reminder: Because it takes too long for the system to index all disk partitions, therefore, we recommend that you keep the PDF documents you collect or produce under the same partition (f in this case), and then check the corresponding F-disk checkbox; This will not only shorten the time to build the index, but also when performing the search operation, By reducing the scope of the search, you can quickly search for the PDF document that you want.
With the steps above, when we open the root of disk F and perform a search operation with a keyword (such as "grub4dos") in the Windows Window's search box, we can quickly search for a PDF document that matches the search criteria.
