Windows encryption of a single folder can be difficult without third-party software, but since Windows Vista, the BitLocker feature has been added to protect disk security. After you upgrade to Windows 8, you can hang directly on the virtual disk. Combined with the above two factors, we can use VHD + BitLocker to save important private files to keep the data secure.

The VHD is not a common file that can be created directly in the right-click menu and needs to be supported by Disk Management or Third-party software. The specific creation process has been introduced in this blog, and we will not repeat them.

Next, double-click to mount on the virtual disk file you created, and continue with the next BitLocker encryption process.

Right-click on the mounted virtual disk and select Enable BitLocker:

After waiting for the BitLocker program to initialize the drive, we can set the encrypted password. Here we encrypt the drive using a password-unlock method. Tick the mayors entry and set the password and click Next:

Next, back up the recovery key as needed to prevent the password from being forgotten.

The recovery key, unlike the password, is a string of 48-bit random digits, and different encrypted drives have different identifiers to differentiate. If this backup is lost, a backup of the recovery key can be performed in the Control Panel-the corresponding drive in the system and secure-bitlocker Drive encryption.

After you have backed up the key, you can begin encrypting the drive. The process takes some time.

The drive is unlocked after the encryption is complete.

When you mount the virtual disk again, you will see the "cannot fit in file" error prompt:

Also, the message that unlocks the drive pops up in the upper-right corner of the screen:

Click on the message and enter the password, you can be prompted to the wrong virtual files, normal mount, click "More Options" can use the reply key to unlock the disk:

If you need to encrypt a drive that has been decrypted, you need to enter "Manage-bde–lock X:" (where X is the virtual disk letter) at the command prompt that the administrator runs, and you can often save as a batch file and run as an administrator when you use it:

Either uninstall/offline disk or reboot the computer to encrypt the drive again.

Right-click on the virtual Disk file and select Eject to uninstall the virtual disk, similar to the "Detach VHD" in Disk Management, both of which are similar to removing disks at physical level.

The "offline" in Disk Management, which corresponds to "online", is an administrator of the disk Management results.

Whether offline or detached, the password needs to be entered again after the disk is linked again.
