With the official release of Windows 7, more and more netizens are starting to upgrade Windows 7, but recently many netizens have reflected the genuine authentication problem when using genuine Windows 7 installation: When the serial number is entered, "Error code: 0xc004f061" is displayed, which makes many people helpless.
The reason for this is that the serial number is actually an "upgrade sequence number" and can only be used for "upgrade install" instead of "net install," so most of these problems occur on users who have upgraded from XP to Windows 7.
The author collects the solution for this problem to share:
The installation does not enter the serial number, directly ignored, the system will prompt you to have 30 days activation period;
After entering the system, do not make any upgrades, directly open REGEDIT.EXE Modify registry, will hkey_local_machine/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/
The Mediabootinstall key value under the setup/oobe/address is changed from 1 to 0 and saved;
In the Start menu to search for cmd, as an administrator to open, input slmgr/rearm, enter after the confirmation box to appear;
Reboot;
Re-enter serial number, activation will prompt success;
Special Note: This method is limited to the genuine Windows 7 serial number and Setup program that you have, and may not be applicable to other cracked or modified installers.
