KeywordsCloud computing great success confidence
Cloud Raiders is a very entrepreneurial passion, especially when it comes to how they adhere to the concept of "software Terminator" to launch the product design and marketing process, there is a sense of excitement.
Imagine their opponents are Siebel and SAP, such as CRM, Salesforce.com in and their "Huashan on the sword" not only not fall, but with 10 years cast a new brilliance, and finally even Siebel from the River Lake disappeared, not to say not a miracle. But behind the miracle is cloud computing, which is now everyone's concern, but not a few people really understand the new things. Mark in the book also only emphasizes the concept of cloud, as to how to set up, design cloud services and other key issues are avoided, it seems to remain one hand.
The biggest impact of this book for CIOs like me is to change my attitude towards cloud computing. I used to think that cloud computing is a concept, more hype, less real. Today, for many IT professionals, it may be that wolves are really coming. Although the business model provided by cloud technology will ultimately be a disruptive Marvell, it is not conclusive, but it is better to care about it than to ignore it. In particular, cloud computing brings about changes in how companies get IT services. In the past, when companies wanted to get IT services, they had to plan for capital investments, and the plans were usually based on the business's greatest demand for the future, and the basic way to get IT services was "plan plans"-build builds-run run. It usually takes months to get an IT solution from planning, implementation to online. And cloud computing revolutionized this paradigm. IT services become a cost of spending, the company can be based on their size, the quality of operations have flexible stretching capacity, it costs and sales are tightly linked. The IT service model is transformed into "sourcing source"-"Integrated Integrate"-"managing Manage". It vendors often put different IT solutions to different enterprise sizes, and in the cloud computing environment, enterprises no longer need to consider the factors of their size, the IT services that large enterprises can obtain, and small and medium enterprises are easy to obtain.
to get an insight into cloud computing, it's best to look at its history first. It is said that the first company to provide real cloud computing services should be Amazon. As is known to all, Amazon was initially an online retail company. As long as it is a retail business, the problem in the US is that a large portion of the annual sales are made during the Christmas season, meaning that Amazon needs to plan its Web site to be based on the number of user transactions during the Christmas season-though unlike traditional retail stores, Amazon has to invest a lot of its stores, But its data center is also a huge expense. And this spending is 11 months redundant, only one months a year is full load operation. To reduce spending, Amazon thought of selling its 11-month computing power to other companies that needed to use data center services, creating the first IaaS (InfrastruCture as A Service) mode. Now it appears that cloud computing, in addition to IaaS mode, also has PAAs (Platform as a service) mode, such as Google's app engine and Microsoft's Azure;saas (Software as a service) model, such as Salesforce.com and sugarcrm.com, etc. Enterprises to use cloud computing, in the end, which mode is determined by the state of the enterprise, in short to determine the business can bring value.
and look at the state of the country. I personally think that most companies belong to the "trickery" nature, the previous product packaging as the selling point of cloud computing, in fact, there is no big gold in technology. There is a lack of knowledge of cloud technology in the domestic IT talent, the cloud technology has the requirement of virtualization to CPU, memory, storage and network. The virtualization of platforms and software is the first thing you need to do to virtualize the hardware architecture, which requires the IT staff to recharge and reassess their capabilities. For CIOs, it is also necessary to understand how to assess cloud solutions and integration with the current system, and, of course, to redefine the security and governance patterns of cloud computing. In short, the ultimate measure of whether cloud services should be used is to determine how much value a cloud service can bring to the business.
I'm just looking at the possible impact of cloud computing from a CIO's point of view, and the specifics of the technical details need to continue to be considered. For example, how to implement private cloud services, how to combine private cloud and public cloud services, public cloud services, and how to integrate existing systems and data, and so on.
But my gut feeling is that cloud computing has a 70%?80% that might be disruptive to our current it. Think of today's most advanced IT applications-the United States, if the introduction of government cloud standards and governance of regulatory documents (heard that there are brewing plans) to the cloud service providers to provide stringent requirements and services of the norms and standards, may be the catalyst for it transformation. If, for example, a service provider is like a current bank, corporate data is like the money we have in the bank, do you still feel insecure? You may find it safer to put it in the service provider. If this cloud security is resolved, I believe many companies will be interested.
