My current version is ThinkPad SL400. I deleted two unknown partitions in the partition. It is said that the two partitions were used by Think to restore the system. Then I deleted the drive C together, the two unidentified partitions are merged. In this way, only one f disk on my computer is partitioned, and other spaces are not partitioned.
Since disk C was originally a primary boot partition, And now disk C is deleted, only one f disk is left (storing a large amount of data), So disk F is the primary boot partition. Then I divided the unpartitioned space into three disks: C: 15G, D: 25G, and E: 10G. Then install Windows XP SP3 on a cd, and mount it to drive C. After the files are copied to the hard disk, the computer should be started from the hard disk. Then, the system prompts "A disk read error occured, press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart ". I tried N times and I found it online:" Press F1 to go to the BIOS settings page, under config → serial ata (sata) → sata controller mode option, there are two options: ahci and compatibility. The original model is ahci, ahci is a Serial ATA advanced control interface/advanced host controller interface, and compatibility is a compatible mode. Xp only supports compatibility mode. Therefore, you must change it to compatibility mode and then install the operating system. "I tried this method and won't prompt" a disk error... ", but the black screen still won't be able to enter the system.
Later I realized that there was a problem with the primary boot partition, because now the primary boot partition of the F disk, and the system is installed on the C disk (C is a logical partition at this time), so I cannot enter the system. It is said that deleting all partitions and then re-partitioning can solve this problem. However, I am reluctant to delete a large amount of data in drive F. It takes a long time to back up data (about GB of data ). My final solution is to use the hard disk partition tool in the XP system disk to set the C disk as the "Main" and "function", and fix or recreate the partition table. Okay. Try the XP system again. It should be okay.
I 've been tossing this problem for a whole day. Now I want to write it down, hoping to help my friends who have encountered similar problems.
