Windows Remote Desktop uses 3389 by default, in order to avoid being scanned with intentions to brute force the remote server or VPS account information. You can modify the default port 3389 to other ports, such as 8000,10000. It is best to modify the port after 10000 to avoid conflicts with other program ports in the system.
The main thing to do on these three steps:
1. Turn on inbound policy:
Find the inbound policy inside the firewall, create a new inbound rule, and the port of the rule is the port you want to modify.
2. Open the registry:
Enter regedit to open the registry
3. Modify the registry:
Modify the two registry parameters:
In Registry Editor, locate the following Portnamber key and change to the remote port that you want to use, such as 10000. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\wds\rdpwd\tds\tcp\
