As you learned about the deployment of the Active Directory service through the previous articles, this is a major introduction to the installation of backup software under Windows Server 2008 and how to back up the Active Directory database.
First, the Ntbackup tool is no longer integrated in Windows Server 2008, but is backed up using Windows Server Backup tool software, Windows Server Backup (Windows Server 2008 is required to be installed manually.
Install: Open the Server Manager, select Features, and find the Windows Server Backup feature to expand the merge and choose this feature.
There is a "command-line tool", if you need to use the command line to back up, then check, of course, the command-line tool requires PowerShell support, so will be prompted to install PowerShell.
Click to add the necessary features as shown in the following image
Select Install.
Once the installation is complete, we can use the Windows Server Backup tool to back up the entire ad.
Expand storage in Server Manager, select Windows Server Backup, and choose a one-time backup in the right action bar.
