In multiple operating systems, because the IE browser in each operating system is located in the directory of the respective system, the websites accessed in IE in one system cannot be browsed offline in IE in another system, IE in one system cannot use resources in IE favorites in another system. In fact, we can allow multiple systems to share IE resources. Suppose Windows 98 and Windows XP are installed on the machine (the setting method in Windows 2000 is the same ).
1. Share favorites
The Favorites files of Windows 98 are stored in the \ Favorites directory of the system (for example, disk C ). Windows XP is managed by multiple users. each user's Favorites (Favorites) are placed in different folders. Assume that a user name is sjx, and there must be a sjx folder under the Documents and Settings folder in the system partition. The sjx folder contains information about Settings and identities of sjx users, favorites are in the list.
Log on to Windows XP with a common User name, open "Registry Editor", and modify "Favorites" in the primary key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ User Shell Folders ", change the value to "C: \ Favorites ". Windows 98 does not need to be changed. Both system favorites point to the same directory, so that they can share IE favorites.
2. share Cookies
Log on to Windows XP with a common User name, open "Registry Editor", and modify "Cookies" in the primary key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ User Shell Folders ", change the value to "C: \ WINDOWS \ Cookies ".
3. Share the Temporary Internet Files Folder
Log on to Windows XP with a common User name, open "Registry Editor", and modify "Temporary" in the primary key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ User Shell Folders ", change the value to "C: \ WINDOWS \ Temporary Internet Files ".
4. Share historical folders
Log on to Windows XP with a common User name, open "Registry Editor", and modify "History" in the primary key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ User Shell Folders ", change the value to "C: \ WINDOWS \ History ".
5. Share temporary folders
Log on to Windows XP with a common user name. In IE, click "Tools> Internet Options", select the "General" tab, and click "Settings" in "Temporary Internet Files. Click "Move folder" in the "Settings" window, and then point to "C: \ WINDOWS \ TEMP" in the "Browse folder" pop-up.
Enabling multiple systems to share the IE resources of a system not only saves space, but also gives full play to the functions of IE. Note that only the internet explorer of the logged-on user is modified in Windows XP, and other users are not affected.
