Analysis and Handling of four types of ADSL faults

We often encounter some faults when using ADSL. Many problems seem very strange, and many friends do not know how to solve them. Here we summarize several cases of ADSL faults to help you analyze and solve them.

ADSL fault 1. Is the "synchronization" light on the ADSL Modem not on?

The "synchronization" lamp (usually the second lamp) on the ADSL Modem is the most important indicator lamp of ADSL. It is the first step to determine whether ADSL can communicate. "synchronization" lamp has several statuses ":" synchronization "if the lamp is on, it indicates that the MODEM on the user end has established a physical connection with the MODEM on the Telecommunications Board-this is called" synchronization ", this is the first and most important step for normal operation of ADSL. if the "synchronization" light is not on or flashing, it indicates that the MODEM on the user end is trying to establish a connection with the MODEM on the telecom Bureau end, that is, the synchronization is in progress. after the user adds the adsl modem to the power supply for dozens of seconds, the "synchronization" lamp changes from "not on" to "flashing" to "long on". This is the synchronization process. if the "synchronization" indicator is flashing when the adsl modem is in use, it indicates that there is a strong interference on your telephone line at this moment. A connection on the telephone line is not properly connected, loose or other line faults.

Solution:

①. The ADSL line cannot be extended, and the PHONE can only be pulled from the PHONE port of the separator; otherwise, ADSL may fail.

②. The connection on the line must be well connected. If the user line is of the core, it must be replaced with a copper core line.

③ If the telephone line is too long from the branch box of the Telecommunications Bureau, the parallel lines should be replaced with twisted pair wires to improve the line anti-interference capability.

④. ADSL is sometimes affected by weather conditions, such as heavy rain. Users can recover naturally in just a few hours.

ADSL fault 2. ADSL often goes offline. How can this problem be solved?

Cause:

① The signal attenuation is too large due to poor line quality, aging of the line, remote distance, excessive connections, and poor contact.

② MODEM does not shut down after a long period of operation, resulting in MODEM overheating, affecting its normal operation.

③ The installation of the line splitter is incorrect because there are too many telephone extensions in the user's home.

Solution:

① If the line is rectified and the external line is too far away, replace the parallel lines with twisted pair wires and try again.

② Restart the Modem or change the Modem.

③ To connect the user's phone to the extension, the ADSL Line splitter must be connected to all voice devices, that is, the Line port of the Line splitter is directly connected to the external Line, and then divided into two channels, the telephone line connected by the Modem port is connected to the adsl modem; the telephone line connected by the Phone port is connected to other voice devices.

ADSL fault 3. Why is the ADSL service out of line when a call is made?

Cause:

① User line separator installation error.

② The line may be reconnected. For example, the same trunk can be used to reconnect audio and signals at the same time, and more than one MODEM is installed on the same outer line.

③ Line separator fault.

Solution:

① The line separator must be installed on the front end of all terminal devices on the road.

② Only one adsl modem is retained on the same line. All voice devices must pass through the line separator.

③ Change the line separator.

ADSL fault 4. Slow access speed, especially during peak hours )?

Cause:

① ADSL technology has high requirements on the quality of telephone lines, and most of the currently used ADSL is a RADSL (rate-adaptive ADSL ), if the telephone line between a telecommunications company and a user has quality problems or is subject to external interference, RADSL dynamically adjusts the user access speed based on the quality of the line and the distance between transmission.

② If the MODEM is not shut down after a long period of operation, the MODEM chip is overheated, resulting in abnormal performance and affecting the Internet access speed. In particular, if the MODEM is automatically dial-up, the MODEM may crash and fail to access the Internet.

③ Poor contact between devices and telephone lines and network cables affects the user's Internet access speed.

④ Users' computer OS faults and online software usage also affect users' Internet access speed. whether the NIC of your computer runs normally, whether the driver is correctly installed, whether the TCP/IP protocol is correctly installed, whether multiple firewalls are installed, and whether the proxy server is set, whether to run online antivirus software at the same time.

⑤ There is a gap between your network requirements and the current network bandwidth.

Solution:

① If the user's indoor line is an iron core line, there are too many line joints, poor contact, serious oxidation of the joints, and high noise, the line can be improved greatly after rectification.

② Restart the Modem and pay attention to the heat dissipation of the Modem.

③ Check whether the interface between the telephone line and the line separator is in good contact, and whether the interface between the MODEM and the user's computer Ethernet card is in good contact.

④ Disable unnecessary programs or firewalls and remove the proxy server settings.

⑤ Currently, the theoretical bandwidth we provide to users is 640 Kbps for uplink traffic and 1024 Kbps for downlink traffic.
