Overview
The Red Hat Enterprise virtualization Application Provisioning Tool (APT) is a Windows service that can be installed on Windows virtual machines and templates. When the APT service is installed and running on a virtual machine, the attached ISO file is automatically scanned. The APT service installs the Guest tool program when the service discovers an active Red Hat Enterprise virtualization Guest Tool ISO and no other guest tool is installed. If the Guest tool is already installed, but the updated version is included in the ISO image, the APT service automatically upgrades the operation. The following actions assume that you have rhev-tools-setup.iso
attached the ISO file to the virtual machine.
Ways to install APT services on Windows:
Log on to the virtual machine.
Select rhev-tools-setup.iso
the CD that includes the file.
-
Double-click rhev-application Provisioning Tool .
In the User account Control window, click Yes.
When the installation is complete, verify thatStart RHEV-apt Service
Options inrhev-application Provisioning Tool InstallShield WizardWindow is selected, then pointFinish。
Results
You install and start the APT service.
When the Guest tool program is successfully installed or upgraded on a virtual machine via the APT service, this virtual opportunity is automatically restarted (this action does not prompt the logged-on user for confirmation). The APT service also performs these operations when a virtual machine is first booted with a template that has the APT service installed.
Attention
Cancel SelectionStart RHEV-apt Service
option allows the rhev-apt service to stop immediately after installation is complete. You can use the Services window to stop, start, or restart the service at any time.
