When we mention wireless access technology, we will surely think of the wireless networks and mobile communication devices we are using. In fact, wireless access technology has a broader conclusion. What is it? For more information, see this article. I hope you can understand the differences between mobile wireless access technology and fixed wireless access technology.

Wireless Access Technology Overview

Wireless Access refers to the transmission line between the switching node and the user terminal. Some or all of them adopt wireless transmission, the technologies used mainly include micro-cellular technology, cellular technology, microwave point-to-point multi-point technology and satellite communication technology.

In a broad sense, wireless access technology includes fixed wireless access to FWA) and mobile wireless access technology. Among them, fixed wireless access, also known as wireless local loop WLL), its user terminal telephones, fax machines and computers) fixed or limited mobility. The main fixed wireless access systems include multi-channel Multi-Point Distribution Service (MMDS), local Multi-Point Distribution Service (LMDS), one-point multi-address microwave system, and satellite live broadcast system (DBS ).

Fixed Wireless Access is the original fixed wireless access system developed as a wireless extension of the PSTN/ISDN network, but with the emergence of broadband wireless access systems such as LMDS and MMDS, fixed Wireless Access shows great strength in multimedia data transmission and Internet applications. It has become a major auxiliary solution for urban access network construction.

Mobile wireless access technology mainly refers to the access technology of the user terminal's mobile communication system in a large scope. It provides services for mobile users, including handheld, portable, and car-mounted phones.

Major mobile wireless access technology systems include:

1) cordless telephone system: it can be considered as a wireless extension of a fixed telephone terminal. The cordless telephone system features flexibility and convenience. A fixed wireless terminal can contain multiple wireless sub-machines at the same time. The sub-machine can communicate with each other in addition to the master machine. The main representative systems are DECT, PHS, and CT2.

2) Mobile Satellite System: mobile communication networks can be achieved through synchronous satellites, and communication can be realized at any time, anywhere, and with anyone. Its biggest feature is the multi-access transmission method of satellite communication, which provides global users with large-scale, large-scale, long-distance roaming and flexible mobile communication services, it is an extension of the Land Mobile Communication System. It has unique superiority in remote areas, mountainous areas, islands, disaster areas, oceanic vessels, and long-distance flights. The whole system consists of three parts: space satellite, ground control equipment Gate Station, and terminal.

3) Cluster System: a dedicated radio communication system for scheduling and command, which is widely used. The cluster system evolved from a one-to-one walkie talkie and has now evolved into a digital multi-channel Base Station Multi-User dialing system that can interconnect with the local telephone network.

4) Wireless LAN: Wireless LAN) is a product of the combination of computer networks and Wireless communication technologies. It is not bound by cables and can be moved. It can solve problems caused by difficulties in wired network cabling and has the advantages of flexible networking, convenient resizing, compatibility with various network standards, and wide application. In the past, WLAN grew slowly, mainly because of low transmission rate, high cost, and limited product series. In addition, many products are not compatible with each other. With the establishment of the high-speed wireless LAN standard and the emergence of 10 Mbps or even higher-speed products based on the standard, WLAN has been widely used in various fields such as finance, education, medical care, civil aviation, and enterprises.

5) Cellular Mobile Communication System: put forward by Bell Labs in early 1970s, the system developed rapidly by the end of 1970s after providing the concept and related theories of covering the residential area of the cellular system. The first generation of cellular mobile communication system is the land-based analog cellular mobile communication system, which uses wireless channels to transmit analog signals. The second generation of cellular mobile communication system adopts digital technology and has the advantages of all digital systems, representative IS the pan-European cellular mobile communication system GSM and North America IS-95 CDMA; currently the second generation half system such as GPRS, CDMA2000-1X has been large-scale commercial, it provides users with reliable, medium-speed data services and traditional telephone services. Third-generation cellular mobile communication systems have also gone out of the lab and started commercial operation in some countries and regions.
