Can K2 cure bad business processes?

A few weeks ago, I raised the following question: Can K2 BPM be used to cure bad business processes?

Forrester Research's Connie Moore answered this question:

The adventurous nature sounds like reverse investors. I will stand on an intuitive standpoint and undoubtedly say: Absolutely, you can definitely use BPM software to cure bad business processes.

Why? Because I have seen it many times in my career over the past two decades.

Here is an example. Large financial service companies all have core procedures to relocate employees and sell their houses as part of the business services of partner customers. This process requires interaction with many different entities, including house owners, banks, property companies, housing agencies, and many others involved in the process. This interaction involves many tables and documents. data input from the number of paper tables is usually incorrectly typed. This means that the error input system slows down the entire process and requires a lot of redo and increases the process cost. The entire process is inefficient, poorly designed, and highly manual.

So when the company uses workbooks and workflows to automate the process, some things are inevitable as data input is confirmed and work independently. The savings in the first 12 months are close to 5 million US dollars, and about 2 million US dollars will be saved each year in the next few years.

Now, this does not mean they have a continuous improvement process, nor does it mean they have changed the process in the next few years, but it means they start from a very old system into an advanced spreadsheet/BPM system, delivering significant savings.

The challenge will continue on this road, from the main Automation Efforts to the continuous improvement. When companies begin to push forward for continuous improvement, they will get even more benefits and align all the inevitable changes in their business processes and processes. Automating a bad process can save millions; automating bad processes and moving forward on the path of continuous improvement can save more. Don't stop. Keep moving forward!
