Lab objectives:

1: understand how to use the ciscopacket tracer Simulator

2: Master common configuration commands for Cisco devices

Tutorial steps:

1: Use a Cisco switch or router to practice common commands

2: Common commands for configuring Cisco Routers

3: Configure Common commands for Cisco switches

4: summarize common show commands

Lab notes:

Experiment Configuration:

1: Common configuration commands

Switch> # user mode, similar to the Guest account of the computer system, with low Permissions

Switch> enable # privileged mode, similar to the administrator account of the computer system, with the highest Permissions

Switch # disable # return command in privileged mode, which can be returned to user mode

Switch> E? # Letter plus? Displays all commands starting with this letter in current mode for selection.

Enable exit # There are two commands starting with "e"

Switch> E # The command can be abbreviated as ", but the entered character is unique. If it is not unique, an error is returned.

% Ambiguous command: "E" # The system cannot recognize the commands starting with E because they are not unique.

Switch> en # The command starting with EN is already unique. The system recognizes it as an enable command.

Switch # Use the abbreviated command en to successfully log on to the privileged Mode

Switch # configure? # Command addition? Commands or parameters that can be entered after the command is displayed

Terminal configure from the terminal

<CR>

Switch # configureterminal # enter the configuration mode. All configurations must first enter this mode.

Switch (config) # hostname # configure the device name

% Incomplete command. # The prompt is that the command input is incomplete, indicating that the hostname must be entered again

Switch (config) # hostname? # Available? View specific input requirements

Word this system's network name

Ccna (config) # hostnameeeccna

% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

Switch (config) # hostnameccnp # change the device name to ccnp

Ccnp (config) # nohostname ccna # Use the no command to add the original command to delete the configured command

Switch (config) # hostnameccna # reconfigure the device name to ccna

Ccna (config) # noip domain-lookup # disable the device domain name resolution Function

Ccna (config-line) # loggingsynchronous # enable the log synchronization function. The configuration command will not be interrupted by logs.

Ccna (config-line) # exec-timeout0 0 # Disable Console interface configuration timeout

Ccna (config-line) # noexec-Timeout # disabling console interface configuration timeout (not recommended)

Ccna (config-line) # exit # return command, only one level can be returned at a time
