CentOS 7.x Installation Configuration

VMware can create multiple virtual machines, each of which can have various types of operating systems installed on each virtual machine. There are many ways to install it. Below, we mainly take the ISO image installation as an example to introduce the installation process of CentOS 7.x and the related parameter setting.

Create a virtual machine

Open VMware and click the Create new virtual machine option on the right to start creating the virtual machine.

Select Install operating system later, and click the Next button.

Select the "Guest operating system" to install on the virtual machine and the corresponding "version", select "Linux" and "CentOS" ( Note: if it is not 64-bit, you must select CentOS), click the "Next" button.

Here you need to set "virtual machine name", if there are more than one Linux operating system virtual machine, here need to clear the Linux version number, here we changed to "CentOS 7", "location" according to personal habits settings, click the "Next" button.

Allocate hard disk space to the virtual machine because there will definitely be more files installed in Linux in the future, so the recommendation is the default of 20GB. Click the Next button.

Click the Finish button to create the virtual machine successfully. The name, space size, and other properties of the virtual machine are displayed here.

When the virtual machine is created successfully, the virtual machine we just created is listed on the left side of VMware's main interface.

Installing CentOS

Click Edit virtual machine settings to set the virtual machine parameters.

Select "CD/DVD (IDE)", select "Use ISO image file", click "Browse" button, select the downloaded ISO file. Then click the "OK" button, which will associate the release version of the ISO file with VMware.

Click the Play Virtual Machine button to start the virtual machine and wait patiently for the installer to boot after booting to the Linux installation interface. The installation of Linux is similar to the installation of Windows.

Note: The switch between the virtual machine and the physical machine uses the CTRL + ALT key combination.

Select the Install CentOS Linux 7 menu and press ENTER to wait for the installer to boot.

The next step is to enter the graphical installation interface.

Language Select Chinese, Simplified Chinese (China), click the Continue button.

Go to the Installation Information Summary screen.

Date & Time, select "Asia", "Shanghai" in the drop-down menu, then set the current date and time, and click the "Finish" button.

Keyboard layout, you can click the "+"-button to add or remove, click the "Finish" button.

After this step to customize the operation of the partition, there are fewer steps to manual intervention, the partition information will be prompted when saving, click the "Accept Changes" button to partition the disk.

After all settings have been confirmed, click the "Start Installation" button to install the system.

Root password, when you are finished, click the Finish button.

Restart

After rebooting the system, enter the boot interface.

Enter the password and click the "Login" button to enter the system.
