Core tips:Comparison of CDMA, GPRS, edge, and Wi-Fi network speeds, we know that the speed of accessing the Internet includes obtaining data from the network and transmitting data to the network, in many cases, the bandwidth or speed in these two directions are different.

Receiving speed and upload speed

As you know, the speed of accessing the Internet includes getting data from the network and transmitting data to the network. In many cases, the bandwidth or speed of the two directions are different. This is referred to as the downlink bandwidth (speed) and uplink bandwidth (speed). We can understand it as the receiving speed and upload speed. In many environments, the uplink speed and the downlink speed are different. Generally, in these asymmetric scenarios, the downlink speed is mostly greater than the uplink speed.

Remember, the concept of surfing the Internet has always misled everyone into thinking that data is going up. Actually, it's not. If you find something online, you just need to go offline to your computer, unless you want to put something like your own photos or emails on the Internet. Therefore, in most cases, the downstream speed is more important. Therefore, these network service providers (including our wireless games) are used to promoting their own bandwidth and promoting their most favorable downstream bandwidth. As a netizen, you must be clear-headed. The bandwidth of 2 Mbps may be downstream, and the uplink may only be 512 kbps. At that time, you must jump to the bandwidth of 2 Mbps.

Theoretical speed and actual speed

The theoretical speed refers to the most idealized speed, that is, the speed calculated based on the theory based on the ideal conditions under various conditions. It is also the nominal network bandwidth of the network service provider. As we all know, there is always a gap between ideal and reality, otherwise it will not be ideal. Because we live in the real environment, we pay more attention to the actual speed that we can achieve when accessing the network. This speed is called the actual speed.

There are many reasons for the distance between ideal and reality.

First, interference and signal attenuation. Because the network is a wireless signal, an electromagnetic wave, and a microwave, it is highly likely to be affected by various factors, for example, electric saw, thunder, and electromagnetic waves of the engine and motor may affect the speed, and the distance between the two sides of the communication will quickly produce signal attenuation, resulting in a decline in the signal quality. Under these circumstances, correctness can be ensured only when the transmission speed is reduced. The theoretical speed is ideal, with no interference and strong signal ......, Hey, so the actual speed and theoretical speed are a lot worse.

The second is shared bandwidth. I will not talk about this much, just like 10 people use one tap and one person uses one tap.

Another is the network bottleneck. That is, the speed at which the entire access network is at the lowest speed is the access speed. For example, many WLAN hotspots in China Telecom are connected to the Internet through ADSL (that is, the IDC of China Telecom). We all know that the vast majority of ADSL applications currently have a maximum downstream bandwidth of 8 Mbps, therefore, no matter whether your wifi is 54mbps or 11 Mbps, the maximum is actually 8 Mbps. This is like the tap water in the house, the pipe is so big, and the tap is as big as a bucket.
