Fault one, show Blue sky Baiyun Map of time too long fault phenomenon:
When you start your computer, the Windows system displays the blue Sky White Cloud, which is displayed in half a minute or so, and then enters the Windows 9X desktop. But some users reflect that their computer at the start, used to display the blue sky and white clouds time is often up to 2-3 minutes, this is how it caused?
Failure Analysis:
Display Blue Sky Baiyun Map, the system is mainly in the implementation of Config.sys, Autoexec.bat and Win.ini, System.ini and Registry startup options, if the above file in the boot option too much, will greatly affect the system's startup speed. In addition, the failure of the disk and the presence of viruses in the system can also affect the startup speed of the system.
Workaround:
First check the Autoexec.bat file, see if there are no more time-consuming DOS program command line (such as the newly launched Jinshan poison PA on the use of Autoexec.bat files at the start of the entire Windows directory to detect), if so, we can choose according to their own needs, and then view Win.ini , System.ini, and the startup options in the registry, depending on your needs. If all the startup options in these files are canceled, the system will still be a long time to show the blue sky White clouds, you should suspect that the system is infected with the virus, then start a (or more) the latest version of the anti-virus program to scan the system is very necessary. If the cause of the virus is also excluded, we should consider the disk failure. Start with a full scan of the disk, check the hard drive for bad, then run Disk Defragmenter, eliminate disk fragmentation, and finally run the Disk Cleanup program to clear the garbage files on your computer to free up the necessary disk space. After the above operation, the system's start-up speed will be greatly improved.
Failure two, the mouse double click operation invalid failure phenomenon:
In Windows, mouse clicks and drag-and-drop operations are valid, but the application cannot be started by double-clicking the mouse.
Failure Analysis:
The fault is that the user inadvertently sets the time interval for the mouse to double-click too short, causing the system to treat the user's double-click action as two consecutive clicks. We only need to adjust the speed of the mouse double-click to solve the problem.
Workaround:
Enter the Windows 9X Control Panel, select the mouse option, right-click, and select the Open command in the pop-up menu to start the mouse settings function. In the Mouse Properties dialog box, select the Buttons tab, then move the slider in double-click Speed to the left (Figure 1), and adjust the Windows 9X mouse double-click speed (which can be tested by the next "test area") to match your operating speed.
Failure three, unable to find physical optical drive failure in DOS environment:
Under Windows 9X, light is driven to normal. In a DOS environment, the physical optical drive is not found.
Failure Analysis:
This is mainly because the user is not aware of the use of non-standard hardware devices in the DOS environment. In a DOS environment, you must add the appropriate driver to any non-standard hardware device, otherwise you will not find the appropriate hardware device.
Workaround:
Install the appropriate optical drive driver in DOS. However, depending on the situation, we are using different methods:
1. If the user has an optical drive driver disk, and the driver disk has similar install.bat, Setup.exe installation program, we only need to run these setup programs in DOS to solve the problem.
2. If the user has an optical drive driver, there is only one SYS driver on the disk, such as ATAPI_CD. SYS), we can only do it manually: first copy the file to the CDROM directory in C, or create a new one without the directory, and then add "DEVICE=C:CDROMATAPI_CD" to the Config.sys file. sys/d:mscd000 the command line, add the C:windows commandmscdex to the Autoexec.bat file. exe/d:mscd000/v the command line, or add the "C:win dowscommandmscdex.exe/d:mscd000/v" command to the Dosstart.bat file in the Windows directory. Among them, the Config.sys and Dosstart.bat files are used to troubleshoot CD-ROM drives from Windows 9X to DOS, and Config.sys and Autoe Xec.bat files are used to troubleshoot the CD-ROM drive directly into the DOS environment.
3. If the user does not have an optical drive driver, you can use the Oakcdrom.sys optical drive driver in Windows 98 that is compatible with more than 90% of the optical drive (note: oakcd ROM). The SYS program can be found on the Windows 98 boot floppy disk and we assume that it has been copied to the C-disk CDROM directory. Therefore, we only need to move the second step config.sys the "DEVICE=C:\CDROM\ATAPI_CD" in the document. sys/d:mscd000 the command line to the device=c:\cdrom\oakcdrom.sys/d:mscd000 command. After performing the above steps, we can use the optical drive in a DOS environment.
Troubleshooting four, defragmenting disk fragmentation results in a dead loop failure phenomenon:
Defragment the disk using the Windows 9X Disk Defragmenter, and the program falls into a dead loop when you go to 10%.
Failure Analysis:
The 1%~10% phase of disk defragmentation is to check the driver for errors and read driver information, and then do a real defragmentation of the disk after 10%. The system is always 10% after the death cycle, mostly because of memory-resident programs, such as anti-virus software, screen saver interferes with the normal disk scan, so that the program can not be normal, thus forming a dead loop.
Workaround:
Close the memory-resident program before defragmenting the disk before defragmenting it. If disk defragmentation is still not possible after you remove these memory-resident programs, you should use ScanDisk to perform a comprehensive check of the disk, including surface testing, to troubleshoot the possibility of disk failure. In addition, if a user has not collated disk fragments for a long time, the process from 10% to 11% does take a long time (click the "Show data" button to open the system action process to know if the operation is in a dead loop).
Failure five, "Control Panel" set the project is not complete failure phenomenon:
Go to Control Panel and find that some of the setup items are missing.
Failure Analysis:
There are two main reasons for the failure, one is the user in the Control.ini file incorrectly set the "*.cpl=no" command, the control icon is prohibited to display; the second is the corresponding system Setup file (. Cpl file) does not exist.
Workaround:
First, open the Control.ini file in the Windows directory and find the [Don t load] section, and if the corresponding "*.cpl=no" command line is found in the section, the fault is caused by the first, and we just need to put these "*.cpl=no" The command line deletion solves the problem. If the "*.cpl=no" command is not found in the [don ' t load] section, the setup items in the System control Panel are not all due to the corresponding. Cpl file does not exist. The simplest solution would be to use these on other computers with the same version of Windows. Cpl files are copied to the local Windows\System directory. In addition, we can use Windows ' System File Checker to recover the required CPL files. After these steps, the missing setup items appear again in the Windows Control Panel.
Failure six, unable to install GBK Input method failure phenomenon:
When attempting to enter a large character set using the GBK input method, it is found that the Chinese version of Windows 98 does not provide a GBK input method, even if the use of the system's "Input Method Add" feature can not be added.
Failure Analysis:
This is not Chinese Windows 98 does not provide users with GBK Input method (Microsoft is the GBK character set), but Windows 98 will be used in Windows 95, respectively, to enter ordinary text input method and a dedicated GBK input method (such as it will be the original " Full-spelling Input method "and" GBK full spelling Input method "merged into a new" full spelling Input Method "). We can use these merged input methods to directly enter any character in the GBK large character set. However, because there are too many characters in the large character set, so the coincident of the GBK input method is also very much, in order to speed up the user's input speed, Windows 98 specially provides a GB2312 and GBK switch switch for these input methods, normally we can turn off the GBK switch to reduce the coincident, When necessary, turn on the GBK switch to enter GBK large character set characters.
Workaround:
The input method that can enter GBK Chinese characters (such as "whole spelling input method"), right-click the IME status bar, select the Settings option in the pop-up menu, bring up the Input Method Settings dialog box, and select the "GBK" option from the "Retrieve Character set" box (Figure 2).
Fault seven, the system always first open the Chinese character input method failure phenomenon:
When you start the Chinese Windows 9X, the Input Method icon in the system tray is not a common icon, but a Chinese character input icon.
Failure Analysis:
This is the user to a Chinese input method incorrectly set for the default input method, we only have to restore the system default input method to the English input method can solve the problem.
Workaround:
Right-click the Input Method icon in the system tray then select the Properties command in the pop-up menu, select the Language tab in the Keyboard Properties settings box, and then select the en English input method in the Language list box and click the Set as Default button (Figure 3).
Failure eight: The system tray is missing the symptom:
When you start your computer, the icons on your desktop appear to be normal, but you find that the system tray below the screen is missing.
Failure Analysis:
The computer starts the process, does not appear the unusual condition, the running program also is normal, therefore suspected is the taskbar attribute is set to "Automatically hide" and is dragged to the top, the left and the right side.
Workaround:
Move the mouse over either side of the top, left, or right, and the taskbar will appear. Then click the blank space in the taskbar, select the Properties option in the pop-up menu, cancel the Auto Hide property of the taskbar, click OK, and then hold down the left mouse button and drag the taskbar to the bottom of the screen.
Fault nine, Chinese character input method State bar "missing" the phenomenon of failure:
After pulling out some Chinese character input method, it is found that the IME status bar which is used to switch half-width/full-width and Chinese and western punctuation marks is missing.
Failure Analysis:
In fact, the Chinese Windows 9X IME status bar shows and hides two states, but because of its switching switch is more covert, some users did not find it.
