The built-in tool "HyperTerminal" can be used directly under XP, and installation SECURECRT need to be downloaded in Win7 or later.
This article assumes that the SECURECRT has been downloaded and installed.
First, connect your computer to the console line. Because many laptops do not have a serial port configured at present, the console line is now connected to a serial port to the USB port line, and then via USB to connect the laptop USB port.
So is my computer.
Find the port number
Right-click on the computer----manage, and on the page you open click Device Manager, where you can tap ports (COM and LPT) to see the port number that is connected to the console line at this point. My port number is COM3.
Connecting using the SECURECRT
Open the SECURECRT and establish the following connection:
The main changes are:
- Change the agreement to: serial
- Port set to: COM3 (that is, which port of the console line is connected)
- Baud rate set to: 9600
Then you can see that it's connected.
This method is also suitable for connecting the H3C switch.
