I. Description of custom printing in Windows

In the past Windows 98 operating system, the "paper size" in the printer property had a "Custom" item. Windows 2000, Windows XP, and other new versions of Windows have different custom locations than Windows 98.

Assume that you use a 21cm-width, 9cm-high custom paper and want to add this paper type to Windows XP and Windows 2000 operating systems, respectively, this makes it easy to choose. The procedure is as follows:

1. Call up the "server properties" interface.
   In control panel, double-click printer and fax machine. Click "file" and select "server properties" from the drop-down menu ".

2. Create and save the custom paper.

   In "server properties", select "create new format ". In the "table name" field, name the newly defined paper, for example, the "report sales order ". In "width" and "height", type 21, and 14.9 respectively. The "Printer area margin" can be customized as needed. Click "save ".

   The format of a report sales order is generated. It represents a type of paper with a width of 21 cm and a height of 9cm.

3. apply custom paper during printing

All printers have their own basic requirements on paper size due to their mechanical structures (paper-based systems and paper-based induction systems. Not all paper sizes are supported.

For example, some users want to print paper with a width below 10cm, such as a card nameplate with a width below 7cm. After customizing the paper, they find that this paper is not available in the attributes of their 1600k4 printer. This is because the minimum paper width of the 1600k4 printer is 9.91, and the paper smaller than this width cannot be ensured by the printer to smoothly feed the paper and take the paper correctly, but cannot be set by the user. As a result, the user cannot see the preset 7cm paper width.

V. Description of the Custom paper used in the Report

When you use grid ++ report to develop the custom paper ticket printing function, you should first define the custom paper based on the actual output paper size in the page settings of the design report, generally, the "print by design page" attribute of the report primary object is set to "yes ". As long as your printer has good support for custom paper, you can get satisfactory results.

If you print multiple rows in a row, the position offset may occur when you use a printer to output multiple pages after you accurately set the size of the paper page in the report based on the size of the measured paper, it is generally caused by inaccurate printer paper. To correct this paper-based error, you can print several pages (such as 3-5 pages) consecutively at a time, calculate the location error value of the last page, and then obtain the average error of each page, then, adjust the page height value in the report based on the average error value.

If the deviation of multiple consecutive prints cannot be solved, it is likely that the printer is not properly controlled by paper. You can customize the paper in Windows according to the previous instructions. This is also a method to solve the problem. This method is not suitable for products to be released on a large scale and increases the workload supported by users.
