Host platform: Windows 7 family Edition
VMWare Version: 8.0.4
Host access method: dial-up access through a wireless router (for more information about ADSL dial-up access, seeArticleLink at the end)
Linux Kernel version: fedora 8 (2.6.23)
Before introducing the specific steps, we will first introduce several virtual network devices in VMware.
Vmnet0:
Vswitch in bridging mode
Vmnet1:
Vswitch in host-only mode
Vmnet8:
Vswitch in Nat Mode
Vmnet network adapter vmnet1:
In host-only mode, the virtual network card that the host communicates with the host-only virtual network (this is the virtual network card on the physical machine, different from the virtual network card on the virtual machine)
Vmnet network adapter vmnet8:
In Nat mode, the virtual network card that the host communicates with the NAT Virtual Network (this is the virtual network card on the physical machine, different from the virtual network card on the virtual machine)
1. Disable the ora8 Vm and change its connection mode to Nat.
2. Start the ora8 Virtual Machine and open Firefox to check whether the network can be connected.
Note that you must use the vmware version 8.0 or later. If you have not tried any other version, it should be fine. In addition, you can use wireless dial-up Internet connections for the current network connection. Please refer to this article http://user.qzone.qq.com/736933848/infocenter# if it is on ADSL dial!
