1. Disabling MS-DOS mode
Sometimes in order to be safe, we hide the partitions that contain important data, but other users can access the drive through MS-DOS. Therefore, for security reasons, you need to prevent users from using MS-DOS by doing the following:
Open Registry Editor, and then expand the Hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\winoldapp branch in turn ( If the Winoldapp branch does not exist, we can create a new. Right-click in the right window of the registry to select the new →dword value command. To create a new key value named "Disabled", double-click the key value, enter "1" in the "Edit DWORD Value" dialog box, and then quit Registry Manager, and restart the computer to take effect.
2. Disable "reboot computer switch to MS-DOS"
There is a "restart computer to MS-DOS" entry in the Shutdown key for Windows 98, and if you want to disable this feature, we can go to the registry and expand the Hkey_current_ User\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\winoldapp Branch, right-click in the right window of the registry to select the new →dword value command, and create a new name named " Norealmod, and set the key value to 1, and then quit Registry Manager and restart the computer to take effect.
