Each person's hard drive has some confidential files. Some people use encryption software to encrypt these files for security reasons. In fact, we don't have to worry about this. We just need to hide the partitions that store these files to prevent other users from accessing them.
Hide partitions
Click Start> Control Panel> performance and maintenance> Management Tools> Computer Management. In the left-side directory list, locate storage> disk management, in the right pane, all hard disk usage on the computer is displayed. Right-click the partition name to be hidden, in the pop-up shortcut menu, select "Change drive name and path", click "delete" in the pop-up window, and click "yes" in the pop-up confirmation dialog box.
Next, you will find that the partition has disappeared in "My Computer". Even if you enter the drive letter of the partition in the address bar or command prompt, the disk cannot be opened.
Restore hidden partitions
To restore hidden partitions, click hidden partitions in the displayed window and select "Change drive name and path" in the shortcut menu ", in the displayed change dialog box, click "add" and select the disk symbol for the partition from the "Assign the following partition" drop-down list.
Although the above method achieves the purpose of hiding a partition, It is troublesome to change the hidden partition every time you access the partition yourself, we can solve this problem using the following method. After deleting a partition, right-click the deleted partition and select "Change drive name and path ", click "add", click "load the following blank NTFS folder" in the "add drive name and path" window, and then click "Browse" to select a blank folder, click OK to access the hidden partitions.
Tip: The selected blank folder must be a blank folder created in the NTFS file system, and the selected folder should not be placed in an obvious location.
