[Eage, EageS series] how to set windows and Windows XP models with Win8 pre-installed
This document describes how to change the operating system of Windows 8 models with pre-installed Windows 8 models. Because ThinkPad does not have a Windows 8 restoration disc at random, if you still want to keep the pre-installed Windows 8 system, please create recovery media before changing the system and keep it in advance. For the creation method, see create recovery media method.
Tip: Dear Lenovo users, to prevent the risk of accidental loss of computer data, we recommend that you regularly back up your important data to third-party storage media (such as servers, CDs, and mobile storage devices ), to ensure your data security.
Operation Method:
1. Click F1 to go To the BIOS page;
2. Go to Security --- Secure Boot and change the Secure Boot to Disabled;
3. Continue to enter the Startup-UEFI/Legacy Boot option in the BIOS. The following two options are available:
1) UEFI/Legacy Boot options are Both, and UEFI/Legacy Boot Priority is UEFI First. This method is applicable to operating system installation in all versions;
If the error "unable to find the device driver" is reported during installation as shown in the second figure ". This problem is generally caused by failure to identify GPT partitions;
2) UEFI/Legacy Boot is UEFI Only, and CSM is set to YES. It can be understood as the UEFI compatibility mode. This method is only applicable to Windows 7 SP1 that supports UEFI installed on a CD;
4. to install XP or earlier operating systems, you need to change the AHCI in Config-Serial ATA (SATA) -- SATA Controller Mode Option to Compatibility (Vista, windows 7 and other high-version systems do not need to be changed );
5. After attaching the installation disc, click F10 (or FN + F10) and select Yes. Save the BIOS settings and exit;
6. The machine will be automatically restarted. After the machine starts up, click F12 (or FN + F12) and select the CD boot. Follow the Windows 7 installation instructions to continue to install the operating system.
