This week, I finally made up my mind to install Windows 7. Because you are used to operating systems activated with genuine versions, it is not easy to install them before they can be activated.

I have installed a lot of software on my machine because I don't want to reformat and install the operating system, which is unacceptable, however, it was normal to upgrade from vista home to Ultimate, but it took a little longer. Step 1: Check whether the machine configuration is correct. My configuration is dell 1420 CPU T6400 2G memory 128 exclusive April this year G hard drive purchased in March, pre-installed with the Home version, so I have a genuine serial number.

After the configuration is correct, check the disk space. At least ensure the space of drive C. Of course, this will also be checked during the upgrade and installation process.

 

Step 2: Upgrade the BIOS. Because I want to activate the operating system using a genuine version, because my current version has a pre-installed operating system, so the Bios has the OEM serial number information, vista can automatically, however, in Windows 7, you need to upgrade SLIC to 2.1 to activate it automatically (different programs are used in different versions, and the operations are different. Here I only write the DELL 1420 operation process ). Go to http://www.bios.net.cn/bbs/here to find the Upgrade Program for this machine, and click the specific operation. Previously, my colleague helped me get a version that was not normal. After clicking the program, it will obviously restart the computer and so on, however, if the BIOS is not updated, the system still displays DELL M08. If the upgrade is successful, the system displays DELL M09. Later, because I failed to do so many times and restarted N times, I was so angry that I wasted a lot of time, but I was eager to install Windows 7 first, therefore, if I have not upgraded the BIOS, I have installed Windows 7 first. After installation, it can be used normally, but it is displayed as not activated. In short, it must be activated. Later, my colleague helped me find another one and the upgrade was successful. It seems that it is only a matter of upgrading the program. Make sure that the previous BIOS version is A10. The difference between the two programs is that, after a normal program is double-clicked, it will be restarted after the two or three types, but a white screen will show that the BIOS is being refreshed during the restart, this indicates that you should be able to upgrade normally. In a word, you can upgrade the BIOS either after the operating system is installed or before the installation. If the same user needs to upgrade my mail or leave a message to me, the size of the BIOS Upgrade Program (1420A10SLIC) is 2.4 MB after compression, and the detection tool: SLIC_Dump_TooKit.EXE is 1.7 kb.

Step 4: directly insert a CD file in the vista operating system for installation. This process is very simple. It should be done by anyone who has installed the operating system. It took me less than half an hour to reformat the machine and reinstall Windows 7. It was faster than XP. Upgrading Windows will affect the following functions:

If you don't think there is any problem, you can install it directly, because I only have 12 GB of space left on the C drive, so you don't have to worry about it. This stage is the second most time-consuming, and takes about an hour. After that, restart the instance.

Now the operating system upgrade is complete. But it cannot be said to end.

 

I have a work report on Thursday afternoon, so I have to pick up the projector for demonstration, but I cannot switch it. I am in a hurry. The reason must be the upgrade of the operating system, it took more than ten minutes to finally solve the problem. It turned out to be a problem with the graphics card driver. You only need to reinstall the driver of the graphics card. You 'd better reinstall some other drivers. Of course, you can use the vista version. Experience

1. the system starts faster than vista. The fastest time is less than 30 seconds.

2. The memory occupied after startup is reduced by about 10%, And I calculated by 2 GB, which is about MB. In the past, my memory was basically in the range of nearly 1 GB, and now the minimum can be reduced to about 750.

New feature experience:

A) One is to lock the program to the taskbar.

B) the content in the sidebar is the task location where the gadgets can be placed on the desktop.

H) use of the database and improve the favorites. That is, my documents. Allow any directory on the computer to be added to the library. That is to say, it is a shortcut to these folders. Before that, I felt that the vista favorites was very useful, and xp was available, but I have never used it. Now, Windows 7 has made some changes to the favorites folder. clicking the favorite folder will automatically jump to the actual file directory, that is, the actual drive letter will be automatically located, to add folders to favorites, you can drag related folders to the Favorites list. I) my colleagues are still used to using the original Quick Start column. You can add one, right-click the taskbar -- toolbar -- Enter "% UserProfile % \ AppData \ Roaming \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Quick Launch" in the blank area in the new toolbar. My current practice is to use a folder of my own. these shortcuts, so I just need to add a toolbar for that directory. 1. The buttons in the sidebar cannot be found in the original status bar, but it may be because the sidebar does not exist, because the gadgets can be placed anywhere on the desktop, however, if you add a button to display the desktop in the lower right corner, you can immediately return to the desktop. Of course, it is OK to use win + D.

2. The improvement of the system tray is also a little uncomfortable, but it is good to get used to it. The current method may be better. In the past, vista showed a left arrow and an up arrow. This does not occupy the workspace of the taskbar.

3. This is the problem step recorder. Run the Windows 7 Security Check Tool and enter "PSR" to open it. However, it does not feel very intelligent.
