In the process of executing AutoCAD command, the user and AutoCAD are mainly through the Text window and dialog box for human-computer interaction.
2.3.1 Using a text window
AutoCAD text window and AutoCAD window is relatively independent, the user can display the window by the following way:
(1) Press F2 key in AutoCAD
(2) Select menu "View" → "Display (show)" → "text window (text windows)"
(3) Invoke the "TEXTSCR" command at the command line
The command history for AutoCAD is saved and displayed in this window, as shown in Figure 2-9.
The content in the text window is read-only, but you can select and copy the text in the command window, or paste the contents of the Clipboard into the command line. The user can perform various actions through the Edit menu in the window, which is:
(1) "Paste to CmdLine (Paste to command line)": Pastes the selected contents of the text window onto the command line.
(2) Copy (copy): Copies the text window's selected text to the Clipboard.
(3) "Copy History": Copies all the command history records to the Clipboard.
(4) "Paste (paste)": Pastes the contents of the Clipboard onto the command line.
(5) "option ... (options): POPs up the option dialog box.
Users can also right-click in the text window to eject the shortcut menu to complete the same function.
If the user wants to switch to the drawing window, there are several ways to do so:
(1) Press the F2 key in the text window
(2) using the ALT + TAB key combination
(3) Invoke the "GRAPHSCR" command at the command line
