Install Emacs 24 in Windows 7

Recently, because of the need to develop products on Windows, it is easier to use Emacs to write newlisp scripts.

The following describes how to install the latest version of Emacs,

1. download the file emacs-24.3-bin-i386.zip from the http://core.ring.gr.jp/pub/GNU/emacs/windows/

2. decompress the package and put it in your user directory, such as my location: C: \ Users \ shu6889.chn \ emacs-24.3-bin-i386

3. The description file readme.w32 in the "logs" directory indicates that addpm.exe can be run with the Administrator permission. A shortcut is automatically created.

You can start it later through start-> All Programs-> GNU Emacs-> Emacs.

4. It should be able to start normally now, but the background is white and eye-catching. Start to install the theme.

How to install a theme:

1. Remember that this is the home directory of Emacs, c: \ Users \ shu6889.chn \ appdata \ roaming, and create a directory below

. Emacs. D (if not)

2.download the color-theme-6.6.0.zip File

Http://download.savannah.gnu.org/releases/color-theme/

3. decompress the package and put it in the. emacs. d directory.

4. Create the. emacs file in the roaming directory with the following lines added:

5. Restart Emacs and see the theme, black background, and more comfortable eyes.
