During this time, ADSL gained widespread favor from Internet users with a number of extraordinary skills. It features high-speed network bandwidth, secure network architecture, and always-on and superb experience, in addition, the convenience of accessing the Internet without the need to pay telephone bills has become the proud capital of ADSL and its owners.
On the Internet, I often see some friends asking questions about the problems encountered in the use of ADSL networking. I feel that everyone is using a troublesome method to form their own LAN. Here, I would like to share with you some of my views on this networking method based on my ADSL Internet cafe experience.
Analysis of common solutions
Currently, most Internet cafes and SOHO users use a LAN that uses a dual-nic server to share ADSL connections.
The user's ADSL Modem communicates with the server's Nic 1, and then the server connects to the Hub or switch through Nic 2. In this way, an internal user access to the Internet is formed: LAN User → switch → server Nic 2 → server Nic 1 → ADSL Modem → ISP (Internet ).
But is this network mode the best way? We all know that there are many types of proxy server software, including Sygate, WinGate, and WinRoute. However, I found that all the problems on the Internet were caused by these software. Here we take Sygate as an example. In terms of the software version, only Versions later than Syate 4.0 can correctly support ADSL, so that we can no longer use the earlier version. Sometimes, when Sygate is used for networking, some websites of the client cannot be accessed. In addition to these software problems, the use of dual NICs increases the cost of networking. To ensure network stability, the proxy server usually needs a dedicated computer, which also leads to waste of resources. In addition, from experience, General machines often encounter some inexplicable problems after installing dual NICs.
My choice
My friends may ask, are there any better solutions to this kind of networking scheme with so many drawbacks? Don't worry, friends. If you don't have any ink, you can make an axe here. Next, I will use the omnidirectional QL16
After reading figure 2, my friends may ask: can this networking solution achieve Internet sharing? Don't worry. Let me talk about it slowly.
In this solution, an internal user's access to the Internet is different: LAN User → switch → ADSL Modem → ISP (Internet ). What is the difference from the previous solution? One server and two NICs are missing!
The Omnidirectional QL1680 ADSL Modem can be used as a router to completely replace those soft routers. Because the routing function is inside the Modem, the stability is much better, avoiding various inexplicable maintenance and configuration faults and problems of the soft route. (hearing this, do you have a bright spot ). In this simple way, The Omnidirectional QL1680 is inserted on any port of the switch, and the hardware is connected to everything. Let QL1680 do other things. Configuration is also very simple, as long as we set the IP address of the PC Nic to automatically obtain, the gateway to the IP address of the ADSL Modem, and then start the ADSL Modem to dial. In this way, you can surf the Internet. In addition, it saves a network card, which is very worthy of our pockets and is not very lucrative.
Here, you may say that this solution looks good, but what is the actual effect? How many machines does the routing function of QL1680 support? Q: How powerful is the QL1680 routing function? You have to ask all-round questions. I only know that my Internet cafe has 50 machines, a 2 m ADSL line, and the speed is fast, more satisfied users.
