As previously reported, Microsoft's newly released Office 2013 will be part of the desktop application in the Windows 8 store, and most new office suite applications will still run in Windows 8 and Windows RT Desktop mode. So where is office running on the Windows 8 and RT "Modern" interface? In an interview with Mashable, PJ Hough, vice president of Microsoft's Office program, said the company did have plans to provide similar products.
"We are committed to providing our customers with a suite of office with a full Windows 8 experience," said PJ Hough. In fact, there are two Office applications that fully support Windows 8/RT, that is, OneNote and Lync.
To be on the safe side, we still say that "Microsoft will someday publish a full support for Windows 8" modern UI "Word, PowerPoint, and Excel applications." The question is, how long do we have to wait?
