1. New Document
Select File > New, set the unit to inches from the Drop-down menu, and width set to 15. Background content white, resolution 240 pixels per inch. Type "Red Butterfly" at the name and click OK. Select File > Open,

2. Create a selection
Using the Quick selection tool, set the selection to "New selection" along the outer side of the butterfly click to select the background of the screen. Then set the selection to "subtract from selection" and remove the white edge of the butterfly from the selection you just created.
The butterfly tentacles don't need to be handled too carefully at the moment. Perform "SELECT > reverse".
3. Optimize constituency
Click the Adjust Edges button to set the view mode to black bottom. Set the partial radius of the edge detection to 3.3 pixels, adjust the edge portion smoothing to 26, feather 0.7, and soften the clear edges of the selection.
The output is set to a layer mask, and we will further optimize it to restore the butterfly tentacles. Click OK.
