Add a column to a SharePoint document library
1. Open a SharePoint site.
2. Create a new document library. The name of the document library should be "shared document"
3. On the Library Tools ribbon, click Library, and then click the Create Column button on the Ribbon to create a new column.
4. Name the column document status, set its type to options (menu to select from), specify the following three options, and then click OK:
• Need review
• Review completed
• Request change
5. Create two more columns and name them "the admissibility" and "Review the comment". Sets the Accept Person column type to single-line text, and the Review Comment column type to multiline text.
Edit the document without checking it out
Testing a workflow template is easier if you do not need to check out the document to edit it. In the next procedure, you will configure the SharePoint site for this purpose.
1. Click "Shared Documents".
2. On the Library tools ribbon, click Libraries, and then click the Library Settings button to display the Document Library Settings page.
3. In the General Settings section, click Version Control settings to display the version control Settings page.
4. Verify that the "Require check out document and then edit it" setting is "no". If this is not the case, change it to No, and then click OK.
To create a SharePoint sequential workflow project
Sequential workflows are a set of steps that are performed sequentially until the last activity completes. In this process, we will create a sequential workflow that will be applied to the Shared Documents list. With this Workflow wizard, you can associate a workflow with a site definition or list definition, and you can determine when the workflow starts.
Start Visual Studio, and then display the New Project dialog box by pointing to New on the File menu and clicking Project.
1. Expand the SharePoint node under Visual C #, and then click 2010.
2. In the Templates pane, select Sequential Workflow.
3. In the Name box, type MySharePointWorkflow, and then click OK.
This displays the SharePoint Customization wizard.
4. Which local Web site do you want to use for debugging? Page, click Next to accept the default Web site.
5. On the Specify the name of the workflow for debugging page, accept the default name ("Mysharepointworkflow-workflow1"). Leave the default Workflow template type value list workflow, and then click Next.
6. Do you want Visual Studio to automatically associate a workflow in a debugging session? Page, click Next to accept all default settings. This step automatically associates the workflow with the shared document library.
