Uninstall DB2 on Windows and Aix

ToTo uninstall DB2 on Windows, follow these steps:

2. Use DB2, deleteIn addition to the itsanmdb database. Itsanmdb is the default name. If you rename the database,
   Delete the IBM Tivoli Storage Area Network Manager database. For information about deleting a database, see delete a DB2 database.
4. Go to the taskbar and click:

   Start --> set --> Control Panel

6. On the Control Panel, double-clickAdd/deleteProgram.
8. The "Add/delete programs" dialog box is displayed. On the "Install/uninstall" tab, selectIBM DB2.
10. ClickAdd/delete.

20. Make sure that you have deleted all related DB2 folders.

To uninstall DB2, follow these steps. The DB2 Management Server is assumed to be db2as. You must have the root permission to uninstall DB2.

2. Delete all DB2 databases. Each DB2 instance can have one or more databases. Go to each DB2 instance and
   The instance deletes all databases. Log On As the instance owner. Run these commands:

   Su-<Instance_owner_name> (Log On As the instance owner)
   DB2 list application (list all databases)
   DB2 drop DB

   WhereInstance_owner_nameIs a DB2 instance (for example, db2inst1 ).Db_nameIs the name of the database to be deleted.
   After deleting the database, you will see this message:

   The DB2 0000 idrop DATABASE Command has been successfully completed.

4. Stop the management server. The Default User ID isDb2as. To stop the Management Server, run these commands:

   Su-db2as (Log On As the DB2 administrator) db2admin stop

   After the Management Server is stopped, you will see this message:

   Sql00007w DB2 Management Server stopped successfully.

6. Stop all DB2 instances. To obtain the list of DB2 instances, run the following command:

   <Db2_dir>/Bin/db2list

   Db2_dirIs the DB2 Directory. The default value is/usr/LPP/db2_07_01. Run the following command for each instance in the list:

   Su-<Instance_onwer_name> DB2 force application all db2stop DB2 terminate

   Instance_nameIs a DB2 instance, such as db2inst1.

8. Remove the management server. Run this command from the root directory:

   /Usr/LPP // instance/dasidrop db2as

   Db2_programIt is a DB2 program, such as db2_07_01.

10. Remove all DB2 instances. Run the following command for each DB2 instance:

    <Db2_dir>/Instance/db2idrop <Instance_name>

    Db2_dirIs the DB2 Directory andInstance_nameIs the Instance name, such as db2inst1.

12. Remove DB2. Run the following command:

    Installp-u

    WhereDb2_programIs the DB2 program name, for example, db2_07_01.

14. Remove the Instance name from the user list (optional, but recommended ). RunSmitGo to these panels:

    Security and user removal users remove users from the system

    Remove the Instance name (such as DB2 inst1) and Management Server Name (such as DB 2as ).

16. Reboot the machine. (Optional, but recommended ).
