After a long preview phase, TFS Online has now changed its name to Visual Studio online (vs online), officially becoming Microsoft's development testing cloud online service. The owner recently built several test items on it and found that deleting items was much easier than previewing them. In the preview phase, deleting items cannot be done in the management portal of TFS online or in Visual Studio, but only through a tool called TFSDeleteProject.exe, which can be seen in this blog post of Wang Yujie children's shoes.
Now, in Visual Studio online, the ability to delete a project has been added to the management portal, and for children who have not used TFS, it is still challenging to find this feature, here are the steps
- Log in to the VS online portal with your Microsoft account first
- On the portal site, click the settings icon from the top right corner to access the Control Panel Administration page
- Find Administration Task, click View the Collection Administration page
- This page will list all the items under the current account, find the item to be deleted, click the arrow icon before the project name to see the delete button.
- When you're done, you'll see a prompt box that warns you that all the data in the project will be permanently deleted and you need to click Accept to start deleting items.
Finally, in the emphasis, delete items in Visual Studio online is not recoverable, if you have important data, you must do a good backup before deleting!
