Windows 7 PE Ram boot disk and WIM image creation

With the windows PE boot board and imagex command, you can easily package the system and installed software into a WIM image for future recovery of the system.
This article first introduces how to create a PE boot disk for Windows 7, and then back up the boot disk for Windows.

I. Preparations

* Windows 7 Operating System

* Windows 7 AIK

* CD dial

 

Ii. Install Windows 7 AIK

Install Windows 7 AIKProgram, Install it as prompted.

 

Iii. Create a Windows PE boot disk

1. Click Start> All Programs> MS Windows AIK> deployment tool command prompt"

 

2. Run the copype. CMD command at the command prompt to copy the PE tool.

Copype. CMD <architecture> <destination>

<Architecture> can be x86, amd64, or IA64, and <destination> is a local path.

RunCopype x86 c: \ winpe_x86Copy PE Tool

 

This command creates the following directory structure and copies all necessary files for this architecture. For example, \ winpe_x86, \ winpe_x86 \ ISO, \ winpe_x86 \ Mount

 

 

 

3. Copy imagex to c: \ winpe_x86 \ ISO

Copy "C: \ Program Files \ Windows AIK \ tools \ x86 \ imagex.exe" C: \ winpe_x86 \ ISO \

 

You can also create the imagex configuration file wimscript. ini and copy it to c: \ winpe_x86 \ ISO.

For Configuration File Settings, see the AIK user documentation. By default, imagex performs the following configuration information.

4. Create a Windows PE image file and create a Windows PE image (. ISO) file using the oscdimg tool at the "deployment tool command prompt.

Oscdimg-n-BC: \ winpe_x86 \ etfsboot.com c: \ winpe_x86 \ Iso c: \ winpe_x86 \ winpe_x86.iso

<Note the space between commands>

 

5. Burn the winpe_x86.iso image to the CD. After the Windows PE boot disc is created, the system image Wim is created.

 

Iv. Create and restore Wim image files

1. Create an image file

Install frequently-used software in Windows 7 and package it into Wim together later.

Put the previously created windows PE disc into the optical drive and restart the computer (not in the following process ).

Windows PE will be started, and then enter the "command prompt" window, using imagex tool for image production, assuming that Windows 7 is installed on the c: \ disk.

E: \ imagex/capture C: D: \ myimage. Wim "My win7 backup"/compress fast/verify

Now the Windows 7 image has been created and saved on the D: \ disk.

 

2. Restore the image file

You also need to use the Windows PE disc to start the computer and enter the "command prompt" window.

Format the drive letter to be restored, for example, drive c.

E: \ format C:

Use imagex again to restore the WIM file.

E: \ imagex/apply D: \ myimage. Wim 1 C:

Restart the computer, and the backup system has been restored... ...

Note: If the computer cannot be started, use bcdboot to initialize boot configuration data before restart.

C: \ windows \ system32 \ bcdboot C: \ WINDOWS
