Windows 2003AD upgrade to Windows 2012AD DHCP server migration

DHCP Server Migration Reason:

Windows Server 2003 will expire on the July 14, 2015 life cycle, and Microsoft will no longer provide services, for this reason many enterprise domain architectures will be upgraded to Windows Server R2 or Windows Server R2 ( This upgrade we have in front of the blog post has been introduced for everyone), but do not know whether people think that once our domain schema upgrade then our domain architecture on the server running on the service will be an upgrade or migration. Today we'll talk about how to migrate our DHCP servers based on domain schema upgrades

Lab Environment:

Windows Server 2003 is also a DHCP server on a domain controller. After the upgrade of the domain controller's operating system, the DHCP server provided by the domain controller also needs to migrate the data to the new domain controller. The idea of migrating the DHCP server is to import the configuration of the old DHCP server into the new DHCP server. It is important to note that if you are in the Chinese version, there are differences in the definitions of some categories in the DHCP server for Windows Server 2003 and the DHCP server in Windows Server R2, which need to be modified. The specific experimental steps are prepared as follows:

To open our DHCP service on Windows Server 2003:

Click Start---Administration tool----DHCP:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 543 "height=" 484 "title=" clip_image002 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image002" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6E/26/wKioL1V1QkmT66CmAAIJmEoqK5w288.jpg" border= "0"/ >

After opening we can see the pool of IP addresses that our current DHCP server assigns to clients:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 455 "title=" clip_image004 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image004" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/6E/26/wKioL1V1QkqR0oWbAAFOnEEdHdQ914.jpg" border= "0"/ >

You can see that we currently have an address pool of 192.168.1.10----192.168.1.100.

To back up data within a DHCP server:

Before upgrading, we should make a backup of the data inside the DHCP server to prevent any problems that can be rolled back during the upgrade process, as follows:

right mouse button win03.share.com:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 456 "title=" clip_image006 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image006" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6E/2A/wKiom1V1QKuzMIKAAAHNXOSaqE4553.jpg" border= "0"/ >

Click Backup:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 453 "title=" clip_image008 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image008" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6E/2A/wKiom1V1QK_xKOSOAAHgaGpSrjY109.jpg" border= "0"/ >

Here you need to specify a backup path, where I directly put it in the C packing directory in the Dhcpback folder, click OK:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 443 "title=" clip_image010 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image010" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/6E/2A/wKiom1V1QK-QyKlBAAEbBBkitLQ782.jpg" border= "0"/ >

OK, you can see the data inside the DHCP server and the backup is successful.

To export the configuration information for the original DHCP server:

Run netsh dhcp server dump > C:\win2003dump.txt on the original DHCP server to export the configuration information for our original DHCP server:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 416 "title=" clip_image012 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image012" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6E/2A/wKiom1V1QLDArDITAAEjkvNhTm4961.jpg" border= "0"/ >

To install the DHCP service on a new domain controller:

To open the Server Manager for a new domain controller:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 436 "title=" clip_image014 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image014" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6E/2A/wKiom1V1QLDDyJ1gAAFjzYrtveQ698.jpg" border= "0"/ >

Click Add Roles or Features:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 457 "title=" clip_image016 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image016" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/6E/2A/wKiom1V1QLHADNTDAAGGPgCcutU251.jpg" border= "0"/ >

Tick the DHCP server here and click Next:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 456 "title=" clip_image018 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image018" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/6E/2A/wKiom1V1QLTQLpkqAAE9xODFQ30086.jpg" border= "0"/ >

Confirm the error, click Install:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 458 "title=" clip_image020 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image020" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6E/26/wKioL1V1Qley9IDYAAFIz-pflaw297.jpg" border= "0"/ >

Installation is complete, the system prompts you to configure, we click on the "complete DHCP" configuration below it:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 473 "title=" clip_image022 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image022" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/6E/26/wKioL1V1QlfxCapYAADkP7Pk9S4185.jpg" border= "0"/ >

Configuration complete, click Close.

To export the configuration information for a new DHCP server:

Run netsh dhcp server dump > C:\win2008R2dump.txt on the new DHCP server to export the configuration information for the new DHCP server, as shown in:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 423 "title=" clip_image028 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image028" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6E/2A/wKiom1V1QLqRc8rYAAE6vedFDWA274.jpg" border= "0"/ >

To modify the configuration information for a DHCP server:

Modify the file contents of the C:\win2003dump.txt and C:\win2008r2dump.txt, modify the different contents of the two DHCP server to be consistent, and make it into a Dhcp.bat script file, the content is as follows:

This section is based on Win03dump.txt, which copies 5 of the lines directly, adds Netsh before each line, and replaces add with delete.

netsh Dhcp Server 192.168.1.100 delete class "Default Routing and Remote Access category" "Remote access Client user class" 525241532e4d6963726f736f6674 0 B

netsh Dhcp Server 192.168.1.100 delete class "Default BOOTP category" "BOOTP Client User class" 424f4f54502e4d6963726f736f6674 0

netsh Dhcp Server 192.168.1.100 delete Class "Microsoft Windows 2000 Options" "Microsoft Vendor specific options for Windows 2000 clients" 4d534654203 52e30 1 B

netsh Dhcp Server 192.168.1.100 Add Class "Microsoft Options" "Microsoft Vendor specific options for all Windows clients" 4d534654 1 b

The contents of the modified Dhcp.bat file are as follows:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 404 "title=" clip_image030 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image030" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/6E/2A/wKiom1V1QLuDME-0AAIbu6VitDw557.jpg" border= "0"/ >

Save the file and then run it on our original DHCP server:

Description: Many friends do not know the meaning of this, here need to explain to you, win12 DHCP and win03 DHCP has changed a lot, which has increased the number of WIN03 DHCP server does not have the content, We do this to unify the DHCP framework of the WIN03 and the Win12 DHCP framework so that we can migrate later.

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 301 "title=" clip_image032 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image032" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6E/2A/wKiom1V1QLzz7hKsAAGbe17IrlU713.jpg" border= "0"/ >

DHCP Data migration:

On the old DHCP server, run netsh dhcp server export c:\dhcp.txt all, exporting all DHCP configuration information

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 415 "title=" clip_image034 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image034" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6E/2A/wKiom1V1QMWBOsNVAAEvX3jtb6s371.jpg" border= "0"/ >

Then copy the exported dhcp.txt file to the C packing directory in Windows Server R2:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 329 "title=" clip_image036 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image036" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6E/2A/wKiom1V1QMXiAUmkAAEVIyBOBxw811.jpg" border= "0"/ >

On the new DHCP server, run netsh dhcp server import c:\dhcp.txt, importing the modified configuration information.

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 422 "title=" clip_image038 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image038" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6E/26/wKioL1V1QmiRh6ZmAAFCfKn-7fM384.jpg" border= "0"/ >

OK, as you can see, the import succeeds, and below we open the DHCP manager for the new DHCP server:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 373 "title=" clip_image040 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image040" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6E/26/wKioL1V1QmigJU-7AAEc0zmOba8120.jpg" border= "0"/ >

We can see that our address pool is the same as the address pool of the WIN03DHCP server, proving our migration was successful.

Disassembly on the DHCP server:

On the WIN03, click Start----Control Panel:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 487 "height=" 484 "title=" clip_image041 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image041" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6E/26/wKioL1V1QmySWgx8AAH-QeSD3SE803.jpg" border= "0"/ >

Click Add or Remove Programs:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 644 "height=" 396 "title=" clip_image043 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image043" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6E/26/wKioL1V1Qm2idr8OAAEaNuMaxgI617.jpg" border= "0"/ >

Click Add/Remove Windows Components:

650) this.width=650; "Width=" 642 "height=" 484 "title=" clip_image044 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image044" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/6E/26/wKioL1V1Qm3gWreZAAImuToqP40692.jpg" border= "0"/ >

Double-click Network Service:

650) this.width=650; "width=" 631 "height=" 484 "title=" clip_image045 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image045" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/6E/26/wKioL1V1Qm7AikfCAAJdU608h5U289.jpg" border= "0"/ >

To cancel the "Dynamic Attack Configuration Protocol (DHCP)" Tick, click OK:

650) this.width=650; "width=" 639 "height=" 484 "title=" clip_image046 "style=" padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px; Padding-left:0px;border-top-width:0px;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;background-image:none; " alt= "clip_image046" src= "http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/6E/26/wKioL1V1Qm_yW08YAAGNsekyrkE660.jpg" border= "0"/ >

Click Finish and our DHCP service is complete!

OK, here we have the experiment of migrating the DHCP server succeeded! Friends in the actual production environment operation must do a good job to avoid the failure to use backup back and forth our operation Oh!
