Windows 7 and Ubuntu dual-system hard disk installation, UBUNTU installation and configuration process

Considering the needs of the graphic interface IDE, you can directly install the Ubuntu Desktop edition without considering installing the Server Edition and then downloading gnome. Attach the boot installation steps from the hard disk.

1. Download Ubuntu Desktop 12.04 LTS, which is a 32-bit directory and can be downloaded to any directory, preferably the C root directory. After the download, extract the IOS files and find Casper, and extract the initrd. LZ and vmlinuz files to drive C.

2. Download easybcd. After installation, select Add new entry --> neogrub --> install --> Configure. Paste the following content:

Titile install Ubuntu

Root (hd0, 0)

Kernel (hd0, 0)/vmlinuz boot = Casper iso-Scan/filename =/ubuntu-12.04-desktop-i386.iso
RO quiet splash

Locale = zh_CN.UTF-8

Initrd (hd0, 0)/initrd. LZ

(Check whether the red part is the same as the downloaded ISO name)

3. Restart and select neogrub bootloader as the startup Item to go To the Ubuntu Desktop. Do not install it directly. CTRL + ALT + F2 start the command line and enter sudo umount-L/isodevice.

4. Start the installation. When Ubuntu is installed to prepare the hard disk space, select "manually specify the partition" (generally the last one ). I have formatted the f disk here, and mounted the/File System in one partition. It is set as the boot partition, And the swap partition in the other partition is MB. After configuration, continue to install.

5. The network is limited. I need to modify the MAC address, which can be skipped.

Open/etc/init. d/rc. Local and add

Sudo ifconfig eth0 down

Sudo ifconfig eth0 HW Ether
Mac to be modified

Sudo ifconfig eth0 up

6. connect to the Internet, install software, and the Ubuntu Software Center always has problems such as software source no authorization. Update the software source at/etc/APT/source. list to add the software source, but the problem still occurs, but you can only directly install apt-get in the command line.

7. Install the Language Pack, and install the graphics driver. If it is an NVIDIA card, be careful when updating the driver. After I update the NVIDIA-current driver, the driver will frequently experience false positives and crashes.

8. After installation, UBUNTU automatically detects win7 and adds it to the grun boot item. Then, it enters win7 to delete the initrd. LZ of drive C, and enters easybcd to remove the previously configured boot item.

If Chinese characters are garbled and you want to switch back to the English environment, you can make the following changes:

Modify/etc/default/locale

Sudo Vim/etc/default/locale1

Modify the default
Lang = zh_CN.UTF-8
Language = zh_cn: ZH

Is:
Lang = "en_US.UTF-8"
Language = "en_us: en"

Save disk and exit

Then:

Sudo reboot
