When you try to log off on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows NT 4.0, you may experience the following symptoms:
1, the backup may not start. There is an error in the application log of the backup program. However, if you see event ID 1524, the backup is already running.
2. When you try to log off in Windows 2000, for a long time, the "Saving settings ..." message appears and Windows stops trying to log off. If you use roaming user profiles on the network, Windows indicates that roaming user profiles are not reconciled with roaming user profiles on the computer. You cannot log on because there are no user profiles that are not logged out. The symptom of this error is logged as an event message in the Application log.
3. When you use a roaming user profile that is configured to delete a locally cached copy of the profile, the cached profile is not deleted when you log off. The symptom of this error is logged as an event message in the Application log.
4. In Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, you can log off, but cannot recover the memory until the user uses the profile of the user profile that can be uninstalled. You can log off first because the roaming user profile is coordinated by using a copy of the contents of the registry. The symptom of this error is logged as an event message in the Application log.
5, in Windows NT 4.0, cannot log off, roaming user profile is not coordinated.
6, access to the registry size limit (RSL).
7. Application Event IDs 1000, 1500, and 1517,1524 logged in the Application log. Viewing events in the Application log is the most accurate way to determine user profile uninstall errors. You do not have a user profile uninstall error if you do not have the events in these application logs. For more information about event messages in the application log, see the Event Messages section in the Application log.
