Hyper-V Live Migration
Compute the migration of resources and the migration of storage resources. The migration of storage resources requires a shared directory.
Authentication protocol: CREDSSP and Kerberos
Performance options: TCP/IP; Compression and SMB
Hyper-V Replication
This is a replica of Hyper-V and can be scheduled for failover. Use high availability. But there will be downtime in the middle of the migration. Clustering solves the ability to switch automatically after a single point of failure, but the cluster needs to be stored this is financially more stressful for small businesses. That for small businesses we can actually use Hyper-V replication to implement a replica of the virtual machine, so that when a hyper-V host has a physical failure, another hyper-V host because of the replica of these important virtual machines, then we can enable the replica to continue to provide services for external
Hyper-V virtual disks
Fixed size: Best disk performance, fixed size does not cause disk size changes due to write and delete.
Dynamic disk: Start creating a small actual footprint, performance does not have a fixed size disk good. The writing of the malpractice data is not continuous, and the disk space cannot be increased once the physical disk space is full.
differencing disks: Must be used with the parent disk, and the same format as the master, suitable for rapid deployment of virtual machines.
VHDs can be converted to VHDX, virtual disks can be edited and scaled, and disk size is adjusted online
Hyper-V Considerations
Redefining the virtual machine installation location
Hyper-V Snapshot
To create a virtual disk in snapshot AVHDX format, the original virtual machine disk becomes a differencing disk, and the parent disk is the first virtual disk. Delete a snapshot merge the files in the virtual machine to the parent disk.
Import and export of Hyper-V virtual machines
Import: Register virtual machines in place, restore virtual machines, replicate virtual machines
Hyper-V Windows Server backup virtual machine files
Back up the virtual machine once the file is lost can restore the virtual machine
Use of Hyper-V VHDs
Enables quick access to resources through the addition and import of VHDs, attached to physical machines or virtual machines
Hyper-V P2V implements a physical machine migration backup
New features for Hyper-V
Client Hyper-V; Automated support technology; Hyper-V replica; storage migration; virtual Fibre Channel; SR-Iov
Hyper-V Virtual Machine Connection Enhanced session mode
Hyper-V virtual Machine Connection no longer uses the emulated graphics card, mouse, keyboard to control the guest virtual machine. Instead, hyper-V virtual machine connections fully provide the power of Remote Desktop Connection (RDC): Use the Clipboard. Direct the sound card on the virtual machine to the host host. The virtual machine uses the host host's smart cards card. The virtual machine uses the USB interface of the host host. Use the host host's printer. Supports Plug and Play devices. Use the host host's drive.
The 2nd generation of Hyper-V virtual machines
Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) ; use of non-traditional equipment ( Legacy free; SCSI booting (SCSI boot); Faster Deployment: 2 generation virtual machines based on network installation are significantly faster than the first generation of virtual machines for two reasons: First, on Generation 2 virtual, legacy network adapters are no longer required. Second,SCSI controllers are faster than IDE drives. For these two reasons, install an identical guest system, and in the 2 generation The virtual machine is one times faster than the first-generation virtual machines.
