Four methods to hide private and confidential files

Primary method: Modify the attributes of the file directory. This method is simplest. You only need to select the directory to hide, right-click the directory, select "attribute", and click "√" in the "hide" attribute check box. In this way, the directory has a hidden attribute. This method is the simplest but the most secure. In "Resource Manager", select "Folder Options" in "View ", select "show all files" in the "View" section to display the hidden directory.
Intermediate method: hide with software encryption. Many encryption and hiding software in Windows, such as Magic Folders and Encrypted Magic Folders (EMF), can be used to hide or even encrypt directories. The following describes how to use EMF. The ghost program will ask you to enter the password, which is the password for entering EMF later. If you want to display the directory again, you must enter this password.

Advanced method: Hide by hard disk partition. The data to be encrypted is stored in a dedicated hard disk partition. Then, you can use partition tools such as PQmagic to set this partition as a hidden partition. The specific method is: first start in DOS mode, then run PQmagic, select the partition to hide, select Hidepartition under Advanced in the Operations menu, and then start again. If you want to recover again, use the same method to enter PQmagic and remove the hidden partition. This method is highly concealed, but also dangerous, and may cause damage to the hard disk. Therefore, you should exercise caution when using this method.

Alternative method: Move the file to be hidden to a temporary folder, and compress it into a file using WinZip or WinRAR with a password, at this time, we can see from the "Resource Manager" that the data is compressed using WinZip or WinRAR. Some people will naturally use the corresponding decryption tool to decrypt the data. However, we changed its extension from ZIP or RAR to a non-existent file extension, such as SYJ. If we double-click it, we won't start WinZip or WinRAR and open it. However, you have to remember the real extension. You just need to change the extension when using it.
