Google will disable Chrome notification center for Windows/Mac
Google added a full-featured notification center feature for Windows, Mac, and Linux Chrome browsers in 2013 to support content reminder services including Google Now. However, since the release is not used by many users, the company has decided to remove this feature in the next version of Chrome.
Google confirmed the above message through a blog on Wednesday and admitted that "only a few people" are using the notification center. Therefore, removing this feature from the desktop experience is inevitable.
However, some users may regret that Google Now's desktop support is still implemented through the notification center. Google previously implemented Google Now separation from the notification center in ChromeOS. However, it remains to be observed when Windows, Mac, and Linux systems will be able to obtain this function in the future.
